At 38 years old i was weighing an embarassing 350 pounds, and being only 5ft 6inches tall made me look even bigger, i had no energy and spent most of my time watching tv or playing on the computer, i wasn't happy with myself so i turned to alcohol to ease the pain i was feeling. My family life was good but i knew it could be better, having a wife and 2 sons was the best thing that happened to me, but yet i felt as if they were missing out on so much because of me, health wise i had no issues i was just big, i tried on the fancy diets but had no success, it wasn't until i developed a gallstone that i realized that i did not want to live like this anymore, my body was telling me its time to smarten up and get my life back on track. I researched bariatric surgery for almost one year and decided to go through with it, i thought if i could add a few more years to my life i could give my wife and kids what they deserved, and that was there husband and father back, the happy go lucky loveable guy they new, and were longing to see again. i found an amazing surgeon named Dr Steven Hendricks in Wyandotte Michigan who performed my Roux-en Y surgery, i never felt more secure as a patient as i did when i met him, this man really knows his stuff, needless to say the surgery was a great success i had very little if any pain or discomfort, it was definatey tough at first but it was well worth it, i am now an unbelieveable 220lbs and never felt better, i have to lose 30 more pounds to reach my goal and i am working hard to do it, i owe a great deal of thanks to Dr Hendricks and his staff for making me the person i am today, and that is a very HAPPY person.
