Magnesium, Calcium and Constipation

Nov 26, 2007

Constipation can be a real problem for those who have had WLS.

I know I preach this to the choir, but I found this article online about Magnesium , Calcium and Constipation.

http://ezinearticles.com/?Using-Calcium-and-Magnesium-for-Co nstipation&id=40719

I went to GNC and bought 250 MG tablets of Magnesium and take two every night with my calcium tablets and it has completely resolved the problem.

Monday

Aug 10, 2007

Today is Friday and my surgery is Monday.

I'm not sure how I feel.

On on hand I am totally calm, comfortable.  Just ready to wake up on Monday and have it over.

On the other hand, there is a small voice going *what the hell are you doing?*

I started this journey at the end of April with a consult.  I have been dieting since that consult.  It is August.  What have I learned?

I have learned that hunger is not really an issue for me if I get in my protein.
I have learned that I can be compliant.
I have learned that I love protein bars and shakes!
I have learned that mentally I am prepared.
I have learned about vitamins and minerals.
I have learned that I can't get to goal without this surgery as I have just  not been able to lose enough on my own.

I am praying for God's grace to carry me through this with strength.  I am praying that my high pain tolerance kicks in.  I am praying that this is the right decision.  I am praying that things work out for the good.

I believe they will.

Getting a Date

Jun 26, 2007

I received my approval letter in the mail, so now I can go get a date!  I've also lost 15 pounds on the diet I have been following, great to see that BMI drop down.  Can't wait til it gets to the NORMAL level.
