Oct 16, 2006
So I might as well write a blog entry!!
Well today is October 16, 2006.. I am 4-weeks Post-op and doing GREAT! The surgery was a breeze, and was completely healed (or at least zero discomfort) by week 2. I have been very strictly following the rules that my surgeon has given me, and feel like I am definitely on the right path.
At around week 2 1/2, I got my apetite back, and have been able to eat normal foods with almost no problems. My restriction that I had from swelling is totally gone, but I am very carefully counting calories. My doc said that after the fills are done correctly, that he wants me to be eating around 1200 calories / day, so this has been my target. It has been suprisingly easy, and I am steadily losing weight. When I started this whole process in July of this year, I weighed in at 341 lbs. This was the highest I had ever been in my life! My previous high was 330 when I was around 19. As of friday the 13th, I am down to 305, from 321 on the day of surgery. At the 2 lb / week pace, I would rach my previous LOW weight of 230 by JULY!! I know that it is alot to hope for, but i am confident in myself!
I have yet to begin a real work-out program.. I have been walking some, but I know it's not as much as I should be doing. I need to join a gym, but I am waiting for the new LA Fitness near my house to be built. I am hoping that I will be able to lay racquetball again one day (I haven't been able to since I destroyed my knee). I know that I WILL get into a routine, but I'm just not there yet.
That's it for now. Oh, and be my friend! :-D
