I am considering a revision of my sleeve. I am 5 years post op. I lost a total of about 75 pounds. I have since been rediagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea and have been on and off of diet meds for several years. Wanting advice on being resleeved. 

Any suggestions?

Wow!  Where has the time gone?  I was denied by insuracne company 2 years ago.  I have been trying to diet and excercise on my since.  Obviously not successfully.  I have began the process once again.  I have met with the surgeon and dietician.  I will have my psch eavaluation on 12-30-10.  I am excited about the meeting that I had with Dr. Byrne.  He was wonderfully supportive. 

I had my consultation with the surgeon today.  It went better than I could have ever imagined!!!!!   The Satff at MUSC in Charleston SC.  They also drew my blood to check all of my levels!  They are trying to check everything now so that I do not have any issues later!    WOW they are so efficient!!!    The surgeon was actually not the one that I had originally requested, but due to scheduling issues I met with Kathrine Morgan.  She was so sweet and informative!!  I am so relaxed about this now!  She also told me that after looking through all of my paperwork, I am the PERFECT candidate for this surgery.  I am now waiting for the insurance to let me know!  I soke to the patient care rep at the surgeon's office on Monday 4-21-08 and she said that paperwork ahs all been submitted to the insurance for approval!  I tried to call and check the status this past Friday but nothing yet.  I will try to wait a few days and call back!  I will keep you all posted with any info that I aquire in the mean time.

I know that i have not posted for a while but I have been working and going to my counseling appointments.  And Worse than that I have a very close friend that has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.  It (at diagnosis) is into 2 lymph nodes, her liver and spine.  She is only 35 Years old.  I am 33, WOW this is scary.  Our friends, family, and Bunco chics have been pulling together to help and support her and her family. 

I have been playing phone tag with my patient coordinator about my counseling approval.  I finally made the appointment for my surgery Consultation today.  It will be Next Wednesday!!!!!  I cant wait!!  Also I am scared.   I have a million "Good" questions but I do not want to seem like a OCD person.   I will keep up with this site and the message boards and I feel like all will be GREAT!!!  

The next step for me will be the insurance!!  Please pray for me!!  I will keep my Blog updated better!

I got the results for the sleep study this afternoon!  I have SEVERE sleep apnea.  WHAT!!!! I was floored to hear the results!! WOW!!  I really do not know what to think other than AH HA moment!  This explains so much!  

The next step for me is to get the CPAP MAchine in the next few days.  I am worried about the machine to be honest.  Cost? Is My family going to fear me???  I know these ??'s seem stupid with the Questions that have also been answered with this study.  I guess the most important thing is to think positively and One day at a time.  

I also had blood work done a few weeks ago and all of my levels are good. 
I am planning to continue with my counselor until march and beyond, and then I will meet with my surgeon!

I went for my sleep study tonight,  It wasweird but I did it!
I arrived at my appoinment time 9:30pm.  I finally got hooked up and in bed around 11:45 pm and had to be gone by 5:45am! Yeah what fun!  When I went to sleep I had nothing but sensors, When I woke up I had the sensors and a CPAP machine on!  

We Will See.

i had my first session with my couselor today.  It went well, we discussed the surgery and what I expect to get out of it and what i fear.  the sesiion went very well.  I feel like someone else now knows what I am feeling!  Yeah.  I am planning to see her every 2 weeks for now! 


I also met with my PCP today.  That went well.  He feels that the recommendation of the counseling is their way of weeding out the ones that may or may not suceed after the surgery.  I am not really sure about that.  But he says that he is sure that I will be a sucess story.  He referred me for a sleep study.  It is scheduled for 1-10-07 (the day after my birthday).  I am kind of nervous about the sleep study, but also curious.  He also drew blood today to check blood, thyroid, etc.  

Now we wait some more.

The Psych INTERN told me that I am deeply depressed, I have to go to my present couselor for 3 months.  After the 3 months the counselor and the psych department will touch base and we will go from there.  so now we wait.  I have an appointment with my counselor and my pcp on Thursday after xmas.

I met with the nut dr this mornig!  She is worried that I am not emotionally stable.  This really upsets me! I am a mother of 3, I work full time and My husband's shifts change from 6am-6pm to 6pm-6am every 2 weeks.  No I am not STRESSED from time to time!  Isn't this normal??  

Well she said that I would hear from someone w/in 2 weeks to let me know whether I qualify or if they need to "recommend" something! "??"
