Greater Baltimore Medical Center (COE)

"The only real complaint was that the "transport team" moving me from SICU to reg ward first came in with a big wheelchair. that would have been fine but there was apparently a bed shortage on the ward I was going to and at the last minute they needed to move me and the bariatric bed I was in: OK fine: until the bed would not fit out the icu door or onto the elevator: thru cramped and sharp cornered hallways. To get the bed on the elevator they literally had to remove two large plastic boxes hanging on the end of the bed: So where do they put the boxes? On the bed between me and the siderails. Here I was 24 hours out of surgury being wheeled in a bed hitting every possible obstacle in the way. I kept saying get me the chair or at least let me get off: I will walk. When we finally got to the right ward the bed would not go thru the door. It took nearly an hour to be moved down 1 level of the hospital. I never did find out exactly what was going on. They were too busy discussing ways of getting the damn bed moved. Very poorly organized move."
