I realized that I haven't been on here in a while. I have gone through some crazy changes...especially in the last few months. I am about 70lbs from my goal weight and it seems that it will never come off. I am out of plus size clothing for the most part and loving every minute of that.

The biggest thing is that this website lead my husband to me! Yes, I got married in December. My husband and I were childhood friends. He moved away when we were about 13. He says he was looking at information on here, because a friend of his had this surgery and he found my name. He contacted me in September of 08, came to see me in November, and we got married in December. I have moved from Kentucky to sunny Florida, where my husband lives.

It has been an amazing year.

Well, I am 7 months out and my total weight loss is 160lbs. I am down 90 since surgery. I am feeling good and finally starting to add to my food list that I can tolerate.

Life is good. My clothing is falling off, and that isn't a bad thing....and I have 92 lbs to go! I don't know if I will ever get there, but I am working on it!

I am now 4 months out. I have been on a bit of a stall, but I am starting to move lower again. I feel so good. 

The other day I was outside with my niece and she said "I bet you can't catch me".....and guess what I RAN! (and I caught her!). I couldn't believe that I was running. It felt good.

I have also discovered that people who haven't seen me very often--they don't know who i am. I am not sure if it is the weight loss or the new hair style---or a combination of the two. But it is nice!

I have made it through the first 3 months of the rest of my life---I am so happy. According to the doctors office my official 3 month loss totals are 118 lbs since starting with the Weight Loss clinic and 72.6 since surgery. I have lost 4.2 lbs since Thursday---so do the math!

I am almost 1/2 way to goal. I so wish I had done this sooner!

Well, shock of all shocks....i am under 300 lbs for the first time in YEARS!!! I am feeling so good. I go back to the doctor next week, I cant wait to see if my calculations add up to theirs. As you can see in my pictures, I have started to change my look to go with my new body. I feel so much better and I feel a lot better about myself...I can only imagine what the next few months will bring!

I am 1 month out tomorrow and I am down 40lbs. I am so happy!

I can't stop singing the praises of Dr. Burry and his staff at Deaconess. They are awesome! He has given me a tool that is giving my life back to me. I am starting to feel like a young woman of 33 again!

Thank you Dr. Burry! I can not express my thanks enough.

I made it through surgery and I am feeling great! I have lost many inches and about 28 pounds! I am looking forward to moving ahead and enjoying my time on the losers bench!

UPDATE!--I AM APPROVED!


I am just starting on my journey. My insurance required a 6 month supervised weight loss, which I am 4 months into. I have gone to my nutrition classes and doctors visits monthly and have had my psych. evaluation. I am scared and excited at the same time. Is it possible to desire and dread the same thing??? I guess it is because that is what I am feeling.

I have a couple of more appointments with the doctor and dietician. Once I have their approval and the psychologist's approval--then it is time to send off for my LOM. Got my fingers crossed! I will update again when I have more to share!
