Well my story starts out like this.  I have been heavy pretty much all of my life.  I was always the little fat girl no one wanted on their team and all of that jazz.  I guess I just grew to accept it.  As I got older I would bounce back and forth with my weight.  I joined the gym several different times and to no avail I never seemed to lose the weight.  After running around chasing 6 small children you would think I would be thin but not me..  After each child I steadily grew larger and larger.  I started developing health problems as well.  I went to several diet doctors and was on this diet pill and that diet pill and after the first 15 poundds fell off I never lost anymore.  I actually started giving up thinking I am going to be fat for the rest of my life!!!  That of course was pretty depressing in itself to think I am always going to be fat.  Then one day I started talking to a couple of friendds who were going to have the surgery.  As i got into their journey's I decide well why can't I do this too.  So I contacted a doctor (with whom I really did not care for) and started the initial stuff you have to do.  When I went in to see him I was like no way in hell will this doctor ever treat me.  I did not like his attitude at all and what a horrible personality he had as well.  So off I went researching to find a new doctor, low and behold did I find the most perfect doctor you could ever fhave.  That's right it was doctor Clark.  I can't tell you how great he has been.  I can never be convinced that there is even a better doc out there cause  I just know there isn't.  I met with Dr. Clark and he explained everything right then and there.  He was so reassuring and just made you feel so comfortable with him.  He took his time and nothing mattered at that time but you.  If I wouldn't have been in a doctors office I would never have known there were other patients he had to tend to.  He treated you like you were the only one he had to take care of that day.  There was no rushing you out  So after that I did all my visits with the physc and all my other appts that you have to do got my insurance packet together and sent in and wiith 24 hours after they recieved it I was approved.  I believe I was approved in March and had a date for May 17th 2006.  I was actually kind of depressed hoping to get in sooner but let me tell you those three moths flew by.  I had my surgery at 2:00 on the 17th had some problems with breathing so they were going to put me in ICU but before they could get a room for me They were able to get me stabilized and I was off to my very own room.  I would have to say the wrost part for me was getting those damn Heparin shots in my legs every 8 hours.  OMG did they hurt.  I couldn't get out of there fast enough when I was finally released which was Friday afternoon.

I did end up having some problems there for awhile but I did get them corrected.  I ended up having 4 strictures.  I had to go back  4 different times and have my stomach stretched.  At this time I was so done and so depressed I was begging Dr. Clark to reverse my surgery again.  He was confident that he could fix me that he looked at me one day and said to me please give me one week and you will be better, trust me.  I will never forget those words and let me tell you he knew what he was talking about and i was.  It has been a long and some what trying journey for me but I have made it.  I won the battle and I just want to say to anyone out there don't give up.  You to will win the battle if you just keep on fighting.  I am now exactly 1 year out (today is my 1 year anniversary and it has been one awesome ride)

I also want to thank everyone on this board for all of your help, encouragement and strong beliefs that you have had or each and everyone of us.  You are such a wonderful group of people and I just hope that I can give back everything that you all have given to me.  If I can help just 1 person then I will be happy.  Thank you and God Bless each and everyone of you.
