01/29/07 - My name is Debbie and I am 36 years old. I am just beginning my journey to surgery. I started my journey to obesity in 1988. It was after I graduated from High School. I started working behind a desk and My boyfriend (now husband) and I ate out all the time and we did little else. It started slowly...10 pounds the first year, and 10 or 15 or 20 every year after that. I have had two children which hasn't helped any (I gained 65 lbs with my 1st child and only lost 25 of that). I have wanted surgery for several years but insurance would not cover it and I didn't have the means to go self-pay. Well, we now have insurance to cover the surgery, so now I begin my journey to a new me! I went to the free seminar last weekend and I am scheduled for my first consult next week. I have been told that I have to complete a 3 month program/diet w/a dietician before my insurance will consider. So I am sure after my consult, that I were I will be beginning.
I hope to check back often so I can keep track of my progress.
