I was always big, but not necessarily fat.I was a lineman in high school football. I believe I graduated at 6'4" and 265. After graduation I did not stay quite as active and after I was married I managed to stay right around 315. Still, I felt healthy and did not think of myself as fat. My first wife died suddenly after the birth of our 2nd daughter. Here I was a widower with two young daughters, scared and confused as hell. Food was my comfort. I never really knew how much weight I put on. I thought I was right over the 350 mark since my doctors scale stopped at 350. Then I was involved in an automobile accident. They needed my weight for medication and I was at 400!. This was a shock to me. As soon as I recovered from the accident, I started eating healthy, running, and lifting weights. I had gone back to college and they had a great gym. In just a matter of a few short months I was down to 280 and felt great. I graduated from college and was on my way off to law school. Law school was tough on me because I was 2 hours away from my daughters who I left with my parents. My 9 year old kept getting sick and nobody could figure out why. I quit law school just after starting my 2nd semester to go home and take care of my daughters. I got into teaching and coaching high school football and basketball which I am still doing today. 2 months after coming back home, however, my oldest daughter who was 9 at the time was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer of the Lymph System. To try to make a long story short, my daughter has recovered fully and is now 5 years off treatment and I have I got married again after she was off treatment. I, on the other hand, weighed 468 last May and then 470 in July! I knew I was going to die and leave my children and my new wife without any birth parent and husband if I didn't do something quick.
