Getting Antsy!

Dec 27, 2009

I am now 18 days post-op from the lower body lift (LBL) and am getting antsy.  It is driving me crazy not to be able to do more.  I still am having to sleep in the recliner as it is too uncomfortable to lay flat in bed and too painful to get up from a flat surface.  But my butt doesn't have the cushioning it used to, so sitting in one position is driving me nuts.  I am able to do stairs okay, and only have occasional pain in my left thigh from the lipo.  I did end up with hives on my thighs and on the back of my upper arms.  No idea what that is from, but cortisone cream and benadryl are getting me through that.  Some of the numbness is going away, so I feel a little more pain around my mid section, but nothing severe enough to take anything other than Extra Strength Tylenol occasionally.  I feel a lot of tightness/pressure around my abdomen, but that is from where he tightened my abdominal muscles.  I still have two drains, but I think one will be ready to come out within the next few days, and hopefully the other one will come out soon.  I have tried the clothes on that were hanging in my closet and got rid of about 1/2 of them.  I know I will eventually wear smaller pants, but have to wait to get rid of the drains and the swelling.  For now, the only pants I wear are sweats.  I am suppose to see my surgeon on January 5, so if the weather holds out, we will drive up very early that morning, and then drive back in the afternoon.  It is about a 4 1/2 to 5 hour drive, and my appointment is around 10 a.m.  I think I'll be able to drive at least 1/2 of the route.  We'll just have to wait and see, though.
