Been overweight since I was about 10. By high school I weighed in at 180. By the time I got married I was almost 200 lbs. After a difficult pregnancy, I gained nearly 70 lbs and could not loose the weight, no matter what I tried. Weight Watchers, Slimfast, Atkins, Low-Cal, Low-fat, 1000 calorie a day, The Cabbage Soup Diet, Pritikin. I'd loose about 20 lbs, stop loosing and then get frustrated.Then I'd gain the weight back plus more. I ballooned to my highest weight of 328 in 2004. Lost 27 pounds before surgery and never looked back.

I decide to have Gastric Bypass in 2001 after seeing Carnie Wilson on TV. We weighed about the same and I though maybe there is hope for me yet. After fighting Cigna Insurance for several years, I almost gave up and then got lucky with BC/BS. I had my surgery on 9/8/04 with the wonderful Dr. Thomas W. Clark and have never regretted one momment (Well, maybe once). It's been an amazing journey for me and It still continues as I pursue reconstructive surgery. Fight the fight! I did and I won!

Protein Shake Recipes
Protein Shake ala Orange Julius

1 scoop of Fuzzy Navel Nectar (Syntrax Protein)
1 Scoop of water-mixable Vanilla (Mixes with water, not milk)
12 oz of water
4 ounces of Orange juice (low Sugar)
1 can crushed pineapple
1 dash of Vanilla Extract

Mix in Blender, keep refridrated. This will give you 50 grams plus of protein a day. It taste as close as you will ever get to an Orange julius
