I'll keep this brief...

I've been overweight my entire life. My biological father used food as both reward and time filler. Our afternoons and vacations were planned around food and where he could get whatever he wanted to eat. My mother gradually gained weight during her marriage to him and until two years ago (she lost 90 lbs on Weight Watchers) we were the same size.

Our eating habits got better after she divorced him, but with one parent who works full time, we struggled for dinners. Which meant a lot of fast food. I'll be the first to admit I love drive thrus and I realize this is something I'm going to have to deal with. I tried numerous diets growing up. All of them seemed to work, but I always plateaued.

It was after overhearing a customer mention WLS with Dr. Oliphant that I really started looking into it. I was approved last August, but didn't feel 100% confident and so I put off having surgery. Now, over a year later I am ready to make the commitment. My friends and family support me 100% and I cannot wait to embark on this new life. (As cheesy as that sounds....)
