My name is Bridget Wall. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am 28 years old and I have been married and divorced and remarried. I have a 7 year old daughter, Elizabeth, from my first marriage. I have three step-sons now; Josh-15, John-12 and CJ-3. My husband, Andy, and I were married April 25, 2006 and we went to Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon.

Andy and I wanted to move out to California but we cannot due to his ex-wife stopping us. We would have to have either her permission or the courts permission to leave the state of Michigan and she won't give it to us and we failed to get the courts. So currently we live in Midland, MI eventually we hope to be in sunny California...but until then we will probably move to another city in Michigan for financial reasons.

I have been heavy for as long as I can remember. I have tried all diets that I knew about at the time. I have rode the roller coaster of weight loss and weight gain, not a fun one. I had never considered WLS until recently. As a matter of fact when my mother was considering WLS I fought her tooth and nail on the subject, I was dead against it. Well she had the surgery and came through wonderfully and is now litterally more than half the woman she was prior to surgery.

Last year I decided to move back to California to better my life. While I was out there I started having a lot of problems with swelling in my legs and just being miserable in my existence. I had gained 30 pounds in just a few months of being out there...so I decided to look into the surgery. My now husband, then boyfriend, came to visit me in January and we went to the seminar and we discussed the pros and cons of the surgery and decided it was something that I should do to save my life before it got any worse, like many others out there. At this time I was 320 pounds my highest weight EVER, including when I was pregnant.

I started the process in January and had my Surgery date scheduled by mid May. I was one of the lucky ones when it came to my insurance, I had no problems with my insurance approving me and it went very smoothly and very fast (good for me). But I know there are those out there that have been waiting for years to have their WLS dreams come true.

I am now 6 1/2 months post-op and have lost 100 pounds as of today. I never thought that would be possible. I am so glad that I had this surgery and if I had it to do all over again I would in a heartbeat!
