Hi my name is Chris I'm 40yrs and Divorced with 2 kids and .I'm a Firefighter and live in NJ.I've been heavy most of my life ,and after trying all kinds of crazy diets like everyone else I started to research and decided to get RNY gastric by-pass.My doctor was very helpful and made me feel comfortable, both before and after my surgery.I started out weighing 365lbs with a size 54 pants and 4xl shirt in NOV 05.I had my surgery on 11/30/05 and spent 3 days in the hospital. Two days were in ICU because i had sleep apnea and then the last day was in a normal room.Once i came home i started my new diet and started my new life with a new tummy,,,,,lols.I had a few small problems along the way.My first issue was an infection in 1 of my incision,,,,this set me back almost 8weeks and keep me out of work for 3 Mo's which sucked. After healing from that i got a kidney stone which thank god i passed after thinking i was gonna die,,,,lols very painful.I had an ulcer at the end of my pouch on my intestine side but that has since healed thanks to nexium,,,,,lol. I also had my intestine hernia and they did more lap surgery and fixed that.Even with my minor issues I would do the surgery again. My life has changed for the better and I'm a better person with it.The only advise i can give is to really think hard before u do it and you have to change your mind also not just your body.if you don't wanna change in your head this wont work!!!!!!!!!! The gym is also a thing u must do as well as eating right. This is a great TOOL But not a cure you still must work on it . I am now almost 5yrs post op and thank god am still doing good .I reached my goal and weigh between 190-200lbs.I love my life and myself very much now because I'm healthy.Best of luck to all     !!!!!!
