I got the call yesterday from Angela and she said I was approved by the ins ..!!!

About 2pm I got a call from Marlena setting up my meet and greet with Dr. Oliak on thrusday I'm so excited, she told me he will meet with me and decide if I need anymore tests (like and EKG or more bloodwork yuk) and if I don't need any of that I  will get my diet and my date...

Wow it feels unreal I'm so close now its a little scary.

Angela called and said she is sending the papers in TODAY for ins. approval...and it could take two weeks...

So I got a letter from the therapist..and she said that she will fax my info to dr oliaks office after i send the 2nd payment of 260.00 I'm, hoping blue cross will give me the money back for the testing cuz when i called them they said I shouldn't be billed and they cover the report...I almost wanted to send it to them to pay but I don't want to wait any longer for them ...Ins companies are so SLOW to pay...I just got a notice in the mail that they are just now starting to pay for my braces which I got last oct!!!

The NUT. called me to follow up, I told her I had been following the diet she gave me and I've lost a few pounds she was really happy about that ..shes a nice lady I wouldn't mind doing my follow up's with her...what annoys me the most is that I can't even talk to dr oliak until I get all these tests and the ins. approval...

I had an issue with the NUT. letter they said they faxed it to Dr. Oliak's office, so I call Angela (dr oliak hmo person) to ask if she got it she says no...so I call the NUT she faxes it again I call Angela she said she didnt get it...finally I'm PO'ed of going around in circles and I just call the NUT and tell her to fax it to me at work. I finally get it about 10mins later and fax it to Angela myself call her and she said she got it I did a little happy dance.

Hopefully by the end of the week the therapist will have the report faxed to Angela and she can send it into my ins.

I hate all this fighting with them to get anywhere ...

it went well she didn't tell me anything I didn't really know (my husband had wls 4 years ago) but i didnt feel like she really knew about wls and she kept pushing the lapband on me which was annoying. she said she wanted to have my PCP eval. me for POCS but I read about it online and I dont think I have it...sigh...one more stinky test...
she said the report will be done next week so I have to call her and follow up ..one step closer

Well tomorrow I am meeting with a NUT, hopefully this will go smoothly I honestly don't know what to expect.
I hope he will give me the green light, I am tired of waiting I started all this back in apr, I feel like its taking FOR-EVA to get the appts to see these ppl. I also hate taking all the time off from work to do this..I'm lucky that my boss is cool but I honestly hate being away from work.

I'll write more tomorrow...after the appt hopefully it'll be good news!

Phew! I have to say the intelligence test was the hardest for me..but that was mostly because of the math I have a hard time if I can't write out my math (I need to visualize the number) . But she said I did very well and that I have very realistic expectations of what is going to happen. She said she has to write up the reports but she is going to recommend me for WLS (woohoo) now I just have to go to the nutrition class and hopefully my ins will approve me!

I'm happy that I am one step closer
