Ok, so I took the leap and had my records sent to Dr. Bruce Long in November of last year.  His office contacted me in January and scheduled a consult appointment.  I'm on the edge...as to whether or not Anthem will approve me. My BMI at the office was 36.5 (I think)..I've lost almost 15 pounds, which I probably shouldn't have, but I wasn't sure Dr. Long would even consider me for surgery.  I have high blood pressure and it's starting to get out of control again, so I'm going to have to get back with my regular MD to get the meds adjusted again...and I have acid reflux.  I had the EDG this week and we found a new issue. I also have a hiatal hernia...I've decided to name it Henry...Henry the Hernia! LOL Dr. Long seems to think that may help the argument for surgery. I also have some other weight related issues, but I don't think they're significant enough for the insurance to consider - back pain, stress incontinence, etc.

So, I'm now in a holding pattern while Dr. Long drafts the letter to Anthem and sends it off.  Cross your fingers!!
