Hey y'all!
My name is Erin & I'm in the looooooong wait for approval. I'm currently doing my 6 month mandatory consultations for BC/BS approval. My last consultation appt is scheduled for February and then I'll be mailing off my application for approval! I cant wait!! I have been struggling obesity my entire life & I'm so ready to change my current lifestyles. It's not that I'm unhappy with my physical appearance (although I cant wait to look skinny!), it's just that I want to be HEALTHY & live a long happy life without being miserable all the dang time!
Anyways..a little about me. I'm 22 years old & I've been married since 06/10/06. I currently weigh 296 pounds & I am 5'6''. I come from a pretty hefty family if you know what I mean..haha. My sister & brother-in-law had Gastric Bypass in March 06. They are both doing well & have encouraged me to follow after them, which I am. I'm really looking forward to getting approved & getting on with it! I know there will be ups & downs, but I'm ready for whatever it has to bring me!
I have been on this journey since December 2006. I was in my 5th month of conultations for BC/BC before sending my application when my husband got a new job. His job insurance changed, of course, & had a different set of requirements, although it is still BC/BS. So, we had to wait 3 months before his insurance became effective. THEN we had to find a bariatric doctor & primary physician in our new location. SO, after getting everything settled with that, I have been to my 1st initial meeting with my new bariatric doctor. (I told him everything I had been through with BCBS/Moving/etc just to let him know I was pretty knowledgable about the surgery). He told me I wouldn't have to come back until AFTER I got approved. Such a relief. I have now been to 2 out of 7 of my appts with my new Primary Physican. February can not get here fast enough!
