Weight Management and Metabolic Center - Columbia

"I didn't receive my pain pump while in recovery like I should have. Not tell 1 1/2 hours after I was back in my room. My family talked to the surgeon at 5:30pm and was told I would in recovery for 1 hour. They would get to see me in my room there after. It was 9pm before I was in my room. I spent 3 and a half hour in recovery!! With no pain pump. They were giving me straight shots of morphine into my IV but it was not cutting it. I was groaning in pain for 4 1/2 hours. The rooms were not accommodating. No room for guest. My dad sat out in the hallway, my mom in a chair that was sat in front of the sink blocking the way to the sink. She had no choice. And my husband had to sit or lay on my bed. My nursing aid through out most of my stay was very nice and I am glad she gave me great care! I did have a psycho roommate at first and after complaining she was moved out. She had been asking to move out of our small janitors closet though as well so I don't know if it was me or her but I was glad to see her go. Very rarely did I have nursing staff encourage me to drink or walk. The two things I needed to be doing. I had one great nurse who was the one who ended up finding me the pain pump. I work as a nurses aid. I would not want to work at this hospital. "
