8 Weeks Post Op

May 10, 2012

Hey Guys,
How is everyone doing?I'm doing good coming to you guys from Arizona came down here last night with my mom and aunt so that we could spend mother's day with my grandmother.I'm leaving next Wednesday,Which seems like such a short time because i usually spend about two weeks whenever i come out here.Last time when i came out here in Jan and i went back home and weighted myself i had gained 18 pounds,Yes you read that right. There was a lot of sonics, cake and lots of alcohol and everything else under the sun plus my uncle is a really good cook and he did a bbq while i was here needless to say i had my fill of everything. This trip is going to be so different because i cant over indulge like that,So last night on our way home from the airport i stop and got some already made protein shakes so that i can have them here.So this morning i got up and worked on the elliptical granted it was only fro ten minutes the point is i did it and according to myfitnesspal that burned 289 cal so i thats pretty damn good.I also had my protein shake and then for lunch i had a turkey burger(16 grams of protein) with ketchup, tomato wrapped in a piece of lettuce.I had half an felt satisfied and gave the rest to my mother.I also still have some trail mix that i bought yesterday that I'm going to eat for my snack.Over all I'm doing pretty good food wise but its still an adjustment and I'm learning slow what will work for me and what wont.Last week when i weighted in i gained .5 ounces and i was so upset because i thought that this was the losing phase. The only thing that i different was that i added some nuts and i worked out four days last week.So this week i cut down on the nuts and still working out mostly walking and my DVDs that i was using before surgery,Currently I'm 425 sometimes i feel like I'm losing slow compared to other who had surgery the same time as me or after me.I know that your not suppose to do that because everyone journey is different.I guess that all i can do is continue to follow "MY PROGRAM" and i will continue to see the results that I'm looking for.I guess what everyone on the board is saying about the scale is true. The times when the scale is moving slow is when you look at your inches and i can you tell you that my inches are coming off.My stomach has gotten smaller and so has my hips and my face.So i know the changes are happening it just looks like the scale number is going to take a little longer then usual.I'm just thankful for the gift of being sleeve and i know that i just have to continue to watch everything I'm eating and get my protein in and work out and i will be OK.I know that my body has been so FAT for such a long time that its going to fight me to get go of the weight i just have to fight harder.Well that it for now I'm going to enjoy my time wit the fam.
