Hi all,
I am a 43 yr old mother of 2. My son is 9 1/2 and my daughter is 22 months. I am 335+ pounds and awaiting approval for Gastric Bypass surgery. I was denied in Feb 08 because I needed a 3 month medically supervised diet. Otherwise all was in order. So I finished my 3 months last week and submitted my paperwork.
In the meantime, I needed to have my gallbladder taken out, and my surgeon begged and pleaded with the ins company to let him do both surgeries at one time, but they would not budge. So I went in on Thursday and had my gallbladder removed laproscopically, and was discharged today.
So in a few weeks when they approve the surgery, I will have to undergo another surgery for the bypass. UGH!!!
I am excited to begin a new part of my life soon, as well as nervous about the after effects of the surgery. I know I will be taken care of, and have lots of support. So that is my story so far. I will keep you updated.
