I hope everyone is doing well..I had my Realize Band Placed Monday april 19th 2010.. I am doing Great so far. I never real nervous about having surgery I Think That is due (1) my faith in Jesus Christ and (2) My wonderful Friends who supported me,inspired me and have already begun their own Journey's...It is a Great thing to be able to ask questions and get straight up answers and know what you may/may not face! I have researched and visited Doctors about Weight loss surgery for about 2 years. Gosh it flew by..... I am SO Happy with my decision and have already lost 4.8 lbs this week ...I know that won't always be the case because I am on Phase 1 of the bariatric diet this week.About my Surgery:
I arrived at Trinity Hospital in Augusta at 5:40 am Monday... Checked in at the Day Surgery clinic...waited about 30 minutes got called back....still not all that nervous
(Praise God) was ask to put on a gown. bright yellow warm(yay) socks and a blue hair cap.....
IV In left hand, heparin shot left arm....Spoke with Anetheioligist, Dr. Blaneys nurse who would be with me during surgery. next My husband kissed me bye and I was wheeled to surgery.... a mask was put over my face and I was told to breath (No smell!). Breathed into a mask about 3 times and that is all I remember until I was awake in my room... I had a morphine drip..so I didn't have hardly any pain. Yes, I was sore but not what I was expecting. I never used the morphine pump that they hook you to and never used any other meds for pain. I was not suppose to spend the night in the hospital but because insurance had already paid for the room.....It was almost insisted That I stay... ( glad I did) Today is 4 days out and I am feeling great.... going to a Surprise party tonight for my babys 27th Birthday!!!!! Hope everyone has a GREAT Weekend!!!! Mj
