2months

Feb 15, 2010

It was exactly two months ago today that I started my journey and what a joyful experience it has been..  I am down 51 lbs , clothes are way too big and people are asking what have you done , you look great.
My biggest issue is eating to fast , oohhhh does it hurt and then I end up spending a half hour salivating in the bathroom sink.  Thank God I have not acutally upchucked , but the feeling is the worse!  I really have to work on slowin down .

We attended a Couples Retreat this past weekend and I must say I looked good.  My hubbie couldn't stop smiling or hugging.  Love IT!!!

I will try to post a pic from this weekend along with one taken last year at the same event and WOW, what a difference.

Beginning of my journey

I made the decision to have wls the last week of October, 2009.  I was tired of not feeling good, of my legs hurting everyday, and of taking 5 pills a day to try and control my blood pressure.  I joined weight watchers, followed the plan and lost 1.2 lbs in a month. Clearly I was not doing something right.  I was at my heaviest 312 LBS.
I convinced my husband to attend the informational seminar with me . He was finally realizing that I could not lose the weight on my own. Midway thru the presentation he turned to me and said do it.
I attended the seminar 6 years earlier and could not convince him that it was the right thing for me to do. He was concerned about me having surgery and the affect it would have on me. Past experiences with surgery were not easy, I tended to not handle anesthesia well. But this time he understood my need to do it.
We have a strong faith in God and we decided that if we could not trust God to bring me through it then we didn't really have faith.
I prayed and asked God to take control of the entire process and if all went well and I could have the surgery the week of Dec 15th I knew it would be his will.
On Dec. 2nd or 3rd I received the approval from my insurance company.  I had to have a complete heart workup ,blood work, nutrition consul, and 3 hr session done prior to the 15th.
PRAISE THE LORD, HE DID IT!
I had surgery on the 15th, and had a rough couple of days. My blood pressure went crazy , I keep having dry heaves, and couldn't get up and walk because of both.
But God!! I went home on the third day, pressure was down and the dry heaves were gone.
I am now 34 days out and as of yesterday have lost 40 LBS! I know that I will reach my goal of 155 lbs
