Hi everyone,
I'm a 32 year old single mother of a toddler, and a full-time physician. I take care of "everything" except my own health. Somehow or other, despite a busy schedule, I still have time with my son, manage the shopping, the laundry, cleaning, lunches... etc, etc. But I eat terribly, don't exercise, and since my pregnancy have ballooned to 237lbs.

I've struggled with my weight since I was 8. I have yo-yo'd since adolescence... down (way way down as a teen) then up to 240... then down to 140.... back and forth 4 or more times since college. I know I can always "take off the weight," the problem is, keeping it off. At present, I am most concerned with finding a tool to help me get to a healthier weight at stay there... in hopes of preventing future consequences. I'm NOT hoping for a miracle, or even an ideal body weight... just something a bit closer, and a lot healthier than my current, very overloaded frame.

Funny, there was a time when weight was SUCH a cosmetic and image issue for me. I felt so horrible about myself and my body, uncomfortable in my own skin... uncomfortable with men.
Such is not the case anymore... if anything, I'd say I'm a bit *too* comfortable in this 39-BMI bod... given how uncomfortable I am becoming doing simple things like carrying around my son... I should be so much more upset about my size... but I have slowly come to accept being overweight... As I have progressed in my career, been gifted by motherhood, and grown happier and happier with my life with my son, I've become more confident despite my over-sized frame, less concerned with the vessel which is the "wrapping" of me as a package... Slowly, I find myself becoming more concerned with "the whole package," and more and more aware of how my chronic obesity may be affecting my overall well-being, my heart, and even my life-span.

I'm fed up with the ups and downs of dieting.  I'm ready to consider surgical approaches to weight loss.
Hope to meet a bunch of you!
Best,
Kimberly
