hi my name is weldon, and weight has always been an issue for me all my life...As a teen ager i was very active and had alot of friends but i noticed i was different then my friends, i was overweight.. this had a different impact on me from everything to meeting girls all the way to doing certain things....In 1993 i was in an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver i was only 19 years old.. I broke my neck c5 and c7 and broke my left femur bone.. this was the worst thing that ever happened to me but it was also a very important time in my life because my son was just born 3 months prior to the accident...... Well after being hospitalized for 3 months which was total hell my life had came to an amazing halt.... and i noticed my weight was increasing due to low activity..but i pulled myself together and tried really hard for a good recovery..for the next ten years i had no idea i was going to have such a wild ride....for ten years my weight just went up an up and up but i was healthy as far as staying really busy with working many jobs or by doing alot of dancing which was very fun..... But in 2003i realized my weight was not a cool thing and it was starting to effect my activities and experiencing back pain and leg pain....so i joined the local ymca which i enjoyed alot i also bought a weight bench to lift weights at home...the excercise went well but not much loss just became muscular...well shortly after i started hearing alot about weight loss surgery ( gastric bypass ) so i started doing some research into it but it scared me because i was hearing alot of bad stories and even death.. but it was still something that interested me... So i looked into local surgeons for the procedure and went to my first seminar i learned alot there from the surgeon and patients as well.. So after going i realzed this is what i want to do and to join the program i had to attend 2 seminars then see the surgeon... I thought i was on my way but i ended moving out of state and landed an excellent job in NH,  my surgery was placed on the back burner...after about 7 months i was beginning  to think about my weight loss journey, some of my co workers had the surgery done and i saw the results ....it made me want to get back into the process so i did... i found a program in lebanon ,NH very similar to the one i attended before... but the only thing different this time around was the fact i weighed more and my health issues were more serious so i was more intense on my research and more interested.... but for some reason it was just not the right time and my pursuit came to once another halt..... for i had lost my job and moved back to mass....so all was good for anoher year i gained more weight and my health was reaching some seriouse low points... i broke my ankle  which probably was the most damaging thing for me i was shut down for months and stuck in bed.... since i had gained weight  i was having mobility issues.. then my sugars became diabetic level and i was borderline...i was having problems with my left leg such as discoloration and swelling....and my vision was somewhat blury... This was my time to act and fast i went to a lap-band seminar and bypass i met with a team of doctors that seemed really good and they had alot of experience... after the consultation i had to go to 2 support groups see a nutritionist then get my psychologist clearance all which took me about 8 months.....after completeing all that i got my insurance approval in about 2 months my date was set for sept. 13th 2007.... .. well this was my condensed story of how i made it to my gastric bypass it seems alot shorter then what all the work and troubles and headaches i put into it but i know it will be well worth it.........
