Decision making

Feb 13, 2009

So I'm new here, but not new to weight loss.  I went to a "seminar" about 1 1/2 years ago at St. Agnes, and every couple months I'd get out the folder and consider calling for an appt.  I've lost 18lbs since then, but a long way to go.  I finally made a consultation appt on 3/6/09.  Lapband or sleeve?  Which do I want to do?  Will my insurance pay for this...i have the coverage but who knows with insurance??
My avatar pic sucks...i wish i bought photoshop ;).
My biggest questions are with recovery time.  I have a job, no medical leave.  I'm a dental hygienist, so I'm wondering will I really need 3 weeks off of work?  I wouldn't mind having a work out buddy at 5am some days!
Anyway here's about me, I'm 32, 2 kids Girl 11, Boy 8 1/2.  A husband whom I've been with since 1994 ish.  I've survived the death of my mother in 2000, taking care of my 70 year old father (picking his medicare insurance, budgeting, grouching around my house).  I've never been thin, as an adult my lowest weight was 155, at 5'7" I was happily a size 13, now at 80lbs heavier I'm an 18, completely rediculous how that works!  I have 2 dogs, 2 carnival goldfish that won't die (i got them in july of 2007) 2 red eared sliders, and 1 african side necked turtle!  In 2004 I lost 50lbs and was just under 200lbs, but then I went to Hygiene school and gained it all back, because I love candy and ate myself into a sugar coma almost every night the last year and a half of school while studying.
