My highest weight was 337 lbs.  That was in April of  2006.  I began a 6month mandatory informational course with Kaiser for the Gastric Bypass surgery.  On completion of the course I went down to 323 lbs.  I had my surgery on 12/5/06 and have lost 35 pounds.  It took about 6 weeks.  My goal is to loose at least 120 pounds.  I feel great!  I must admit at first I was very cautious and was hesitant about doing the surgery due to all the negative stories I was hearing from family and friends.  But I am here to say that I thank God I did not let that deter me from going through with it.  I have more energy, I'm moving around a lot faster and I feel so much better about my self and it's only been 35 pounds!  Just wait until I loose 100 lbs!!  I am so excited.  I exercise almost every other night and I consistently drink a 55g protein drink a day.  I must admit, I have not completely changed ALL of my bad habits but according to my surgeon that will take some time.  In the meanwhile he assured me that weight loss is inevitable and it will come off in it's own unique fashion.  Good luck to everyone of my bariatric sisters and brothers and God bless!
OK FAST FORWARD 3 YEARS MY OH FRIENDS I LOST A TOTAL OF 110 LBS SINCE THE SURGERY AND A BLESSING CAME MY WAY WHEN I BECAME PREGNANT AND GAVE BIRTH IN 3/09.  MY BOY'S NAME IS ELIJAH AND I LOVE HIM DEARLY.  UNFORTUNATELY I GAINED MORE WEIGHT THAN DOCTORS WANTED ME TO DURING THE PREGNANCY AND SO NOW I AM ABOUT 45 POUNDS HEAVIER THAN MY LOWEST WEIGHT POST SURGERY.  I AM VERY SAD ABOUT IT AND HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT THINGS TO LOOSE THE WEIGHT BUT DUE TO MY LACK OF COMMITTMENT TO A CONSISTENT WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM I AM NOT LOOSING ANY WEIGHT.  I AM NOT GIVING UP AND HAVE NOT BEEN ON OH IN A LONG LONG TIME BUT THOUGHT I'D SHARE.
