STAYING ON TRACK

Feb 02, 2011

Now let's see, staying on track mainly was due to having the "Will to win". The jrny, in my personal opinion is 60% mental. Your success is totally dependent upon how you think, 40% is diet and exercise. Quote I live by: "when a man changes the way he thinks, he changes his life", only then can he/she position themselves to act on decisions rightfully. Without that, your success was doomed before it even began. So, that's the remedy....lol. Don't get me wrong I've had some challenging moments, were I got off track eating things I had no business eating. However; mental toughness helped me to overcome my fleshly cravings. Medically the doctor may not agree with me, but having what you want every now and then is okay but it should be a treat, not a way of living. Remember to always be in control of your emotions "they don't know any better" you do. Example: I'm sure you've had times were you didn't want to get up and go to work but you got up and went "right", you simply told "emotions" I have bills to tend to and I can't afford to not show up. No difference with living a healthy life. Emotions say, I'm upset, so I'm eating something to make me feel better or I'm happy, let me eat something etc. You must identify with why your feeln/actn a certain way when bad habits want to reinstate themselves; this is so key toward you not failing. Benjamin Franklin said, " I didn’t' fail the test, I just found a 100 ways to do it wrong" We know what we need to do but we find comfort in not doing. This has everything to do with the matters of your heart; which is directly affected by our core beliefs, emotions and rational thinking. You must being willing to deal with "YOU" and why weight gain has ruled your life. I now understand that I was an emotional eater, I kept my problems to myself, feeding my concerns and insecurities to food. Real talk, it’s a daily learning process; I’m yet discovering what contributes to my eating behaviors. Truth be told, it’s an addiction, the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming. The first habit you must deal with is your mind. You get that in check, your half way on your way. We only have one life to live, why not live it in the “Now & Know”.
