Well today is my first day of the high protien liquid diet, so far so good! I hear the 3rd, 4th and 5th day are the hardest! I feel like I have totally prepared myself for this so hopefully it goes fairly smooth! 10 days till my surgery day!!!

Well I get to start my liquid diet on 12/13 for surgery on 12/23!!

I finally got the call saying I am approved for surgery! I have my appointment with the surgeon on 12/3, I am so excited!

Well I got a call yesterday from my surgeon's office! They are wanting to submit for approval but were unsure if it will get approved because I have not had a consistant two years of over 40 BMI, I told them to still try! I have had a BMI over 35 off and on for the last 4 years! I am so depressed and worried that I will be denied and my whole future is riding on getting this surgery done! I am not working right now due to Fibromyalgia and knee pain, if I do not get this weight off soon I will be bankrupt! I need to get this done ASAP so I can get back to full time work! I am really scared and worried! Please pray for me!

Well I found out Friday that I have one hurdle to jump before we can send in my request for approval. I have to go see the sleep doctor to adjust my CPAP on Monday, once that is completed then we will send in my request! I am getting so excited! The nurse said I should have my surgery date before Thanksgiving! I am praying that all goes well so I can have surgery in December before my dad leaves for Florida.

Well I have finally had my meetings with the nurse, nut, doctor and psyc eval! Now I have to see the physical therapist next week and go back to the sleep doctor to reevaluate my wonderful CPAP, hope that all goes well and fast! Next step after that is to get the insurance approval! I sure hope the insurance company doesn't take it's sweet time for an answer! Anyways that's the latest and I am getting very excited! Shouldn't be long now, I hope!

I went to the initial WLS meeting on Sept. 2nd. At that time I had been researching the RNY for about 6months and I felt I was well informed. I took my mother to the meeting to help ease her anxiety about it. She still is not really wanting me to have the surgery but will support me know matter what. The meeting made me want it even more then I did before!
I received my packet with all the paper work that needed to be filled out. I had to get a new PCP because I switched clinics and I also was due for a physical. Got all of that out of the way on the 8th and the paper work was sent in that same day.

I got a call from my PCP on the 10th informing me that my cholestoral is very high and I should be put on meds but because I am seeking WLS we can wait and retest in 6-12 months. I saw it as one more reason to have the surgery and another way to get the approval!

I finally received a call from the bariactric nurse on Sept. 16th to set up my initial meeting. I have that on Oct.14 and she said it can last upto 4 hours! Wow! I can not believe I have another month to wait to even get this whole long process started!! I hope all goes well and I can get the approval fast. I would like to be able to have the surgery before the end of the year because my father will not be in town for 3 months and he really wants to be there and support me. Pray that I can get a fast approval!
