I have to have surgery

I met with my knee replacement surgeon today. He said that he won't replace them till I lose weight, and recommended that I get gastric bypass. all my doctors have told me that. . I can't imagine living with these bad knees for the rest of my life. so here I am again. terrified of the surgery, but needing to change.
