3 years plus

Oct 15, 2011

It has been over 3 yrs since surgery and I have gained 27 pounds.  I have devised a step process to help me reach my goal.

1st step is becomming re-aquainted with the WLS community and this board. Need to find my way around it once again.
2nd step is to do the pouch test. I've been saying this for months and just can't seem to do it.
3rd step is to start using protein again and to DOCUMENT every thing I eat on Fit Day.com.
4th step is to start exercising....heck I have On Demand with any type of exercise routine. Plus I have a dog to walk.
5th step is to check on meetings. Do they still have them even?
6th step is to creep on my other  post op buddies and get advice from them.

POST OP REPORT

Apr 28, 2008

Well surgery was April 17th and it is now 11 days past.  I dropped 10 pounds since surgery and 17 pounds since PAT's.  I am so happy that I made this decision and I feel that I am on the road to a new, healthier, lifestyle.
The key to success on this journey is following the doctor's rules.  Walking and sipping are the two most important things to do.  I will try my hardest to continue doing my best.  I will not let my emotions overrule me!

Almost There...Again!

Feb 19, 2008

I heard from Vicki in the insurance dept.  I had to get a letter from the nutritionist that I wasn't a binge eater.  I also have to have a TSH test.  Then I will have all the requirements in.  Vicki said that my insurance company is being more difficult to deal with this time.  Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Small Setback!

Jan 09, 2008

OK so due to my lousy insurance from work, I will end up owing Barix's about $2500.00.  Since I don't have this upfront, I will have to postpone surgery until I can scrap it up.  I will buckle down and stop spending foolishly.  I just bought my daughter a set of tires for her car.  I should of only bought two of them but at least I know she has good tires.  From here on in I am saving all my $$$.  Any extra hours I work will go towards Barix.  I will have this surgery in March!

Bronchitis

Nov 10, 2007

Surgery postponed due to bronchitis (again)!  Why can't I get rid of this darn sickness??  Well my new date is now 12/10/07.  I made it for Monday because it was my weekend to work and God forbide you not work your weekend!!!!!  I'm hoping that by the time my next weekend rolls around I will be recovered and ready to go back.  Please let me stay  healthy for this surgery!

I have to say goodbye!

Oct 25, 2007

Goodbye to all my loves... my cherry vanilla ice cream,  cheese danish, cinimmon buns, tiramasu, and most all my biggest love of all time, you my dainty little cheesecake.  I will surely miss you but you have not been good for me.  The time as come for us to go our separate ways.  I have chosen a new friend...Mr. Elliptical.  He will be true and stay with me for a life time.  He will never let me down.   He will always make me smile no matter how bad I am feeling.
So bye bye  and please stay away from me forever!

PAT'S

Oct 22, 2007

I went to Barix for my PAT's today.  I could hardly sleep last night because I was so anxious.  The waiting is finally over!  I passed all my tests.  I had some difficulty with the resp test.  They weren't as easy as you think.  Well anyway, I passed the blood work and the weight test.  My potassium was low but Dr. Kognaski gave me a prescription for it.  Much to my surprise, I actually lost 2 pounds.  I don't have to do a clear liquid diet until the day before.  But I'm going to try to lose an additional 8 pounds.
Well it was a long day and thank God my little Luv Bug Colleen came with me to keep me company.  I'm glad she's only 14 because she'd rather be with me than go to school! LOL.
November 2nd will be my new beginning.  I hope it's a good one!

I GOT A DATE

Oct 11, 2007

I received a call from Peggy at Barix today.  We worked on the date of November 2, 2007.  That's the date that I begin my new life.  My new healthy life that will lead me into the rest of my life.  I am so elated I can not even begin to put it in words.  I feel that this is a new beginning for me and nothing is going to make me spoil this.
I joined the gym again today.  It felt great to see Betsy, Erroll, and Jill.  I know they do not think I should take this step.  In fact, I know there are several people who believe its a bad decision.  But I'm going to show them they're wrong.  I know what's right for me and I believe this is the right road.
I'm very happy to have a surgery sister.  Gina, this will be the best experience that we can make it.  We will do it together and we will become healthy for ourselves and our loved ones.  See ya there!

Call from Barix

Oct 08, 2007

I received a call from Barix today, Monday, 10/8/07, that Dr. P signed off on my chart and it is going to certification.  This will take another couple of weeks...   Why or why does this process take so long.  This is nuts.  Oh well, all good things take time.
