surgery day is almost here

Hi everyone... My August surgery was cancelled because I got none - healing ulcers in my legs caused by venous insufficiency. I had never even heard of this, let alone knew that I had it. Does anyone else have experience with this? To make a long story short, after weekly debridement and pressure wraps applied twice each week, and after saphenous vein ablation surgeries on each leg and 4 weeks of powerful antibiotics (oh yeah, the stores were infected with MRSA), I am finally ready for my surgery. I was cleared for surgery last week by both my surgeon and the anesthesia Department, and surgery is scheduled for this Thursday, October 20th, just four days away!!! Feelong both excitement and a good bit of anxiety right now.

Because I live 3 hours away from the hospital, we will be staying at a nearby Residence Inn from the time of my discharge until my 1 week follow up appointment. I have a pretty good idea what I will need to take to the hospital but I'm struggling with what I need to pack for the hotel and those first three to five days after discharge. I want to make sure and take the things that I will need but I also don't want to over pack and bring things that won't be used. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks so much, Gretchen
