Andres Betancourt

"I was scared when I first walked in the clinic. Dr. Betancourt was friendly, personable, and tried to put me at ease. I was also introduced to the Surgeon, Dr. Almanza who would do the actual Surgery. Dr. Almanza spoke very little english, but Dr. Betancourt went over everything with me. And did most of my care outside of the surgery itself. He was always pleasant, seemed somewhat \"smooth\" at times. rnThe nurses Spoke little english, but there was usually someone nearby to interpret what I could not understand. The Nutritionist spoke english, as did my escorts. The drivers only spoke Spanish, but they never sent me anywhere without someone to interpret for me. The staff overall was good.rnI also developed an allergic reaction to the Cipro (Antibiotic) they were giving me, and Dr. Betancourt immediately changed my antibiotic. I decided to buythe benedryl Liquid for myself since he didn't order anything for my rash. I also removed my own stitches, and did my own wound care when I got home.rnAlthough I met with a Nutritionist, there is no followup through that office since it is in Mexico. I went through ISA to get the surgery and they call me every week to go over my plan. The lady who calls reviews what I have done and goes over the plan for the next week. I also need to follow-up with my own PCP.rnOverall, I would not recommend this place unless you either have a background to understand what is going on (I am a nurse with some surgical experience) or a good support network and care system at home."
