I have not been on OH in forever- I need to get back on track

Jun 04, 2009

Since I had my surgery I seem to have lost focus and I let other things take priority over my weight loss.  I got a promotion at work which was great for my self esteem in the beginning, but caused a lot of stress for me.  I was so consumed with doing a good job as a supervisor that I put in a lot of extra time at work and did not take time to exercise or eat like I should have.  That took care of year one...
Year two was filled with more work stress,  a knee injury, and another battle with cancer by my mother.  I took care of her during her illness and she passed away May 11, 2009; just after my 2 year bandiversary.  Now I'm going through a break up of my 9 year relationship.  The bottom line is that two years after having surgery I weigh 345 lbs.  I have continued to lose weight slowly, and I have not gained any weight back.  I am thankful for both of these things.  I no longer have to take medication for high blood pressure or medication to regulate my menstral cycles.  Both are benefits of having the surgery and losing weight. I had been having a lot of problems with regurgitation and acid reflux, but didn't go to the doctor because "I didn't have time."  Yesterday I finally went and found out that that I had a prolapsed pouch.  They had to take all the saline out of my band.  This should take care of the swelling and irritation in my pouch and allow it to heal properly so I can begin the process again.

This is a fresh start for me.  I can't go back in time and fix the past, but I can look forward to making better choices now.
