finally an update

May 12, 2007

Hello everyone, sorry i have not updated, but since surgery i have been resting, playing, and busy and just dang lazy at times.

my surgery went very well, only problems i had was with tiny veins and having those blood sucking nurse used me a a challenge.  I finally told them no more.  Dr Patel told them it was ok.  but he did make me do one before i left the hospital.  I was so blessed to have my family fly in and hubby drive in from New Mexico from one of his projects to be with me, plus i had my pastor which was indeed a Blessing.

i was very calm right to the last sec when they wheeled me out.  my sister leaned down and kissed me and told me she loved me and was scared and wished she had my strenght. i seen tears cloud up in her beautiful eyes and i told her i would be just fine, i had God on my side and i could feel all the prayers for me and it gave me a peaceful feeling.   my hubby kissed me and said, i will be right here until you get out, then expressed his love. my daughter held my hand as they wheeled me off. i seen them all hugging was my last sight before surgery.  the reason they got to be in there, usually it is only 2 people at a time, was because it was do dang late, about 5pm and i was very last and no one else was in the pre op rooms, so they all came back to be with me.
anyway it was wonderful to have them all there.

after i go out of the hospital my hubby drove me home, my little abby ( dog) was so happy to see me.  Bob got to be home with me for nearly 2 weeks, then he had to get back to work.  while he was here, he wook very good care of me. i also had tons of visitors from church dropping by to me and Bob.

i did very well on liquid and pureee foods.  the only problem i have is water do not taste good as it once did, i add cystal lite to it and it is too sweet, i add less and it is kind of nasty. propel is ok for 1/2 bottle then i can;t drink anymore.  i once like isopure, but can;t stand it now. yuckkkkk   now i am trying to drink a fruit refresher sugar free , zero carbs of course and so far it is semi ok.  the skim milk is great, but can only have 8 oz of that..  i play to go to the store today and try to get something that i can drink. maybe a different brand of water.

anyway... i had my first post op office with Dr Patel and he proudly told  me i was doing excellent and  i have lose inches and 37 pounds in 3 weeks.

wow i was amazed....

so that is 37 gone forever.... yeahhhhh

my next appointment is June 28.

i am now on stage 3 of my menu and doing very well. i love the tuna and eggs and re fried beans, fish. today i am trying chicken.
now if i can just get my drinking water under control...

ok that is it for me this round.

i hope all is well and everyone is doing great and thanks for the messages...
hugs

time is getting closer

Mar 26, 2007

I have not did to well on the pre p diet so far, i have been watching my food intake and what i have eaten.  I read somewhere that the protein diet will make you lose faster for pre op. so i have started that Yesterday, with a small amounts of salad and lean deli turkey.

i am straving.... but have to do this because i have a appointment with Dr Patel this FRIDAY... and i need to lose more then 3 lbs since the last time i seen him.  so i came up with a plan, maybe when i get hungry i will just take a nap. Water makes me hungry...

tomorrow i will get some sf popcyles.  i have had sf pudding and jello and decal 2 % latte with akins protein drinks.

the reason i have not written sooner is i did not know how.... and i figured i might as well try it,

oh yeah i am going to a support meeting tomorrow in san antonio.

i am sooooooooo hungry... time for bed..

hugs to all...

Scared and need to decide

Feb 26, 2007

Hello Everyone,

If anyone can help me, I would love ya forever!!!!
I need to tell Dr. Patel my decision today or tomorrow. He has been so kind and patient with me and has answer all my questions.  But I need to ask him a few more and maybe this will help me make up my mind.

One of the reason, I am having a problem with the ideal of re-routing my stomach.  I wanted the Lap Band. but he says that the bypass would be best for me since my age and weight is a factor.  I have done all my requirements and they all came back very good, which was amazing. But I still prefer the Lap Band because I can live with a object inside me, better then the re-routing. So many people live with things inside them, like pacemakers, steel pins and plates, ect.  But I also know many live with re-routing.  I guess I am concern over the fact, that I have read in forums and others that they have known many that re gain their weight back or they stretch out their stomach pouchs.  My concern is, will this bust your staples or blow up your stomach? And does your stomach pouch grow over your staples? Can you feel anything different inside you? Seems to me, if you go through all this, why would you even want go back the way you was. I know I plan to 'toe the line' and obey all rules,

Like I said, I have a few more questions.  Also I am scared of going under and not coming back. I have a loving family and a good life and I would hate to leave them.  But like Esther ( in the Bible said) If I perrish, I perrish.  meaning to me, either one would be ok, cause she has nothing to lose, since she got the best of both worlds.

anyway, I am rambling now, so forgive me if this is so long and confusing.  I do want this, I do need this.  I just need to let go of my fears.

oh yeah, did anyone else use Dr. Patel? If so please let me know.

Thanks a bunch
