Have always been big but also athletic, played several sports in HS and got alot of security work as a bouncer/bodyguard when I was younger. Got to travel with a few HUGE bands and saw alot of great music back in the 80s.

Slowly it seems the Lbs kept coming. I got bigger and bigger. tried cutting back and dieting, nothing worked for more than a little bit. I medicate with food to this day. Physically things got harder, like walking, playing with the kids etc......

April 2006 got really really ill, spent a few days in the hospital.Ran lots of tests, Drs couldn't figure out what was wrong BUT my Oxygen levels were down to 88%, normal is 95+, They were checking for checking for Blood clots in the legs, the lungs(PE) enphazyma(sp). I thought I was going to see Pete at the pearly gates, got real worried about LIFE.Started looking at WLS option then. Discussed with Dr, he wanted to do other things first, They are working I have lost 35+ Lbs since May06. But still way way bigger than what is healthy.( BMI is currently 60.4). The good news is no diabetes, no high blood pressure and cholesterol is 198, Very healthy all things considered, also very lucky.

When you get real sick and fear death you take stock of what you have done and your familys future without you, its a depressing thought, not being able to walk you daughter down the aisle, not be able to spoil your grandkids, no college graduations, no growing old with you wife. Not being there for the little thngs that matter so much when your kids get older. How can I say "I told you so" to my son if I am not here?

I have officially started my journey Jan 22nd, the day before my 42nd Birthday, well see where it ends, it promises to be a wild ride, that I am sure of.

Thanx for reading(if you're still here) writing this has been very theraputic.
