Today it's been 6 months and 5 days since my RNY. A lot has happened during that time, good and bad, but I made it!
My eating and getting enough protein is still a challenge, but getting better every day.
This morning my scale read 137! My RNY surgery weight was 217. I have been as high as 250. I've lost over 100 pounds since then. Unbelievable!
I give all the praise to God, who each day strengthens me for this journey.

No Longer Obese

I had my 3 month followup visit today and my surgeon looked at me and said, " You're no longer obese!" He was happy and I'm thrilled!

It's been a week since my last endoscopic dilation and I'm still able to eat! I hope # 4 was my last.
During my last 2 endoscopies my heart rate dropped to 30 during the balloon dilation. Vagus nerve is the culprit there. If I need another one my Dr. wants to do it in the OR. No way, the bills are high enough already!

It's April 17th and I haven't vomited in 4 days! That's a record for me. I had my bypass on 2/9/09 and have had 3 strictures since then. I had my last endoscopy on Thursday and I think it worked! Praise God!!!

I had my RNY 2/9/09 and the restriction is very "restrictive." I must say I think when I had my band, getting food stuck was MUCH more painful than with RNY. That's a good thing!
I am scheduled for my 3rd endoscopy next Thursday 4/16/09. My stoma keeps overhealing. I have every confidence in my surgeon and neither of us can figure this out. I have the endo and can eat about a 1/2cup of food. That lasts for 4 or 5 days and then everything makes me either hurt or vomit. The stoma where the new pouch meets the small intestine just heals too much. Hopefully the third time will be the last and everything will be "normal."
