Pre-Surgery Weight Loss

Dec 19, 2010

Wow, I weighed myself this morning and am down a total of 4 lbs.  It's amazing how journaling my food has made me think more about what I'm eating.  I've been trying to get on the stationary bike 10 mins at a time.  My arthritic knees complain if I stay on longer than that.  Yesterday, I walked for 15 minutes.  Feels good to be making any kind of progress.

The Beginning...................

Dec 18, 2010

Well here I am ready to go.  I weighed myself last Saturday and was the same as my Intake appt. - 244 lbs.  I am required to lose at least 12 lbs pre surgery.  They'd love to see me lose 24 lbs but with my bad back and knees, they said they would accept 12.  I weighed myself this morning and was 242.8.  I'm pleased since the only change I really made during a very stressful week was giving up my glass of wine with dinner!

Working on cutting down/out the coffee, aghhhh.  Using half caff now and am enjoying Bigelow's French Vanilla Decaf Tea in the afternoon.

I'm really craving Chocolate, trying to ignore it!

I started my new exercise routine today.  So far I've ridden my stationary bike twice for 15 mins this am and 10 mins this afternoon.  That should really help me with my pre-surgery goal..

So glad to have Mom as my buddy, as being housemates, we need to be on the same page and she will be the one cooking and helping me as I recouperate.  We really enjoyed yesterdays 3 hour Class on Nutrician.  She will go with me to each appt and new pt support group.  The first is Jan 5th.

I'm really looking forward to getting to surgery and beginning a new life.
