I have been wanting to have WLS for 5 yrs now. I started the process in 2004 and was denied. I just didn't push it because we started the process to adopt a little girl from China and did so in 2005. Ok, then I decided to get the ball rolling again. DH had different insurance(same employer). I went for a consult with a different surgeon(who I was very happy with). I had to have a 6 month weight loss program so I started that. I was to be finished in May 2006. Well in March, we started the process to adopt a little boy from China so I decided not to pursue the surgery until after we got him home which brings me to the present. DH has a new job and insurance starts on May 1. I just found out that his company has an exclusion for WLS in their policy. I was so blown away!! I never expected that. I am now looking into financing a surgery in Mexico with Dr. Joya.

Well my surgery date is May 4. Not with Dr Joya but Dr. Alvarez. I feel very comfortable with my decision. I was very nervous when I first made the date but, now I feel very calm about it. I look so forward to starting my new life. I haven't felt good in so long. I'm not sure what it will feel like to gain energy and strength. I 'm so excited.

My surgery is in 4 days and I'm feeling very excited.I'm not nervous yet. I'm trying to get all the last minute things done at home. I still need to make my shopping trip for things I need when I get home. I'm cleaning so I can come home to a nice house. I'm getting my hair colored tomorrow. I don't want to have roots!! My protein should be delivered today according to UPS tracking info. I think I have everything covered. In just a few days, I'll be on the losing side!!!
