I looked at weight loss surgery since 2002.I was to scared to have gastric bypass. When the lap band came out I was interested. My husbands insurance carrier did not cover this.I started fighting with the insurance companies for two years.I was checking on self pay and almost gave up.They denied me once again and I wrote a personal short letter and the accepted it and aproved me.I have feet problems,I have had 6 foot surgeries in the last 4 years, besides that I am healthy. So it was hard to get aproval.I have a physical job and my feet were effecting my every day life ,at the end of the day I would have to use Vicadin.I have not always been over weight,I was on medication when I was young and I was very unhealthy thin, once I was taken off then I started to gain weight. They think that might messed up my metabilism or something.I had three children and continued to gain somemore. At 29 I had to have a hysteractomy.Once I had that I could not loose weight like I could before.I take no hormones.I dont have alot of support on this decision,my husband and family think I am crazy, but my family is not over weight ,and I think my husband is scared.I am glad I have this web-site for support.I use it daily.
