Amanda H.
Hello, My name is Amanda and i am 26 yrs old and i have been overweight ever since i can remember. I have been coming to this site for over 5 years now. I am 5'8 and weigh 333 lbs. My heighest weight was 342 when i was pregnant. I found out that it is not fun being morbidly obese and pregnant. I have a beautiful 2 yr old son and the best husband in the world. He treats me like a queen. I want to be there for my son and see him grow up and be able to play with him. I have been trying to have the Gastric Bypass for about 5 years now. Me and my hubby have changed jobs several times and every time I try to get approved for surgery through insurance, something always goes wrong, I get denied etc... I have been having some health problems after the birth of my son. At first i thought i was having panic attacks, but the hospital did a lot of test and on my ct scan and chest xray they found a mass in my chest which is called a thymus gland. Basically, we all have one and it's supposed to shrink after puberty, but in some people it does'nt. I have been having shortness of breath and chest pain from this. But not as bad lately. I still think i was having some panic attacks because i have been dealing with some post partum depression. The reason i want to have surgery is because i hurt all the time. I have varicose veins, high colesterol, shortness of breath, chest pain, gerd, sleep apnea, degenerative disc disease in my spine, back pain, knee pain, ankle pain, UTI's, and depression/panic attacks. I found out in Sep of 07 that I have hypothyroidism. My mother had the Gastric Bypass done back in 1989 and she has kept off a hundred lbs since. Obesity definitely runs in our family.
