I have been going through the lists at obesityhelp.com and am advising Everett & other local residents of the next two WLS Support Group meetings. First of all, I'd like to mention that our meetings are very informal (at least, for now) and come-as-you-are, wherever you are in your journey. The meetings are scheduled for Mondays, 11/10/03 and 12/8/03 at 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Everett Public Library - Evergreen Branch. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at [email protected]. I hope to see you there! Your AMOS sister, Deana Ferrari

Jeanne - you are an inspiration to the rest of us. You had the exact same surgery I'm having on 8/9/02. I would love it if you could email me on how its been, have you stayed well "nourished" iron, calcium etc. Also, any problems with the dreaded diarrhea? I heard that can be a downfall of the distal surgery so I would appreciate your feedback. Take care! Annie

...Vince, you sound like a "gem" of a husband, and I know Jeanne is happy to have you there. When I read your post, I felt the love you have for her and the committment you have shared with her from the beginning of your lives together. Thank-you!! keep her well/Irene

I am so glad things went well inspite of the "lung" collapse, but it appeared Jeanne bounced right back. I hope her trend stays upward with good reports, still in my prayers! Whooray!!Blessed Be Irene

Hello everyone. This is Vince, I am Jeanne's Husband. I am happy to report that I was able to bring Jeanne home from the hospital this morning. This has been a tough few days, but Jeanne did excellently. She had some problems with a partially collapsed lung that she had to deal with the first 2 days, but she did the breathing exercises, walked the halls and bounced back. As previously reported, Jeanne had a problem with the pain medication she was initially given but once that was changed, she improved greatly. I am glad we are home, but honistly, I am also a little scared. I will be working hard (along with Jeanne's mom, Katie) to watch for any warning signs that would require attention. Our children are just happy that MOM is back and that things can return to a more normal pace. I had alot of time to reflect on our lives together as I waited the 3+ hours for Dr. Oh to complete the procedure, ever waiting for some update. I realize now more than ever, exactly how much Jeanne means to me. As her husband, I found it difficult being only able to watch and support her. I could not take her pain away. I realized also that this was about Jeanne and for Jeanne. She did this for herself, in return, we, thouse who love her will be able to enjoy her life for many, many years to come. I intend to grow very old, gray and wrinkled with my wife. This will just help us accomloish that! God Bless you all! Vince Hayes

This is Jeanne's Mom reporting she is doing great. If she can keep her temperature below 100, she can go home tomorrow. Thank you everyone for your prayers.
