Lost 7 pounds this month. BMI is 22.
I played with hair extentions!I broke into the 150's this month.Wearing Medium and Small tops and Size 6 jeans. Very happy with how I look.
Someone posted this test to see what body frame you have. You measure you wrist and if you are over 5'5 (like me) and your wrist is smaller then 6.25 you r considered small boned/framed. Well my left wrist is 5 inches and my right wrist is 5.75 so I am small framed! Not sure how accurate it is but I'll take it!
I eat more carbs now, trying to slow down the weight loss. But it takes a conscious effort to eat more carbs. I have trained myself to eat low carb - who would have ever thought Id be saying that?? Got used to low carb w/out even knowing it. lol
Ive started laying out by the pool...want to get a little tan. The vitamin D from the sun is good too! Oh! And I am wearing shorts!! I havent worn shorts since early highschool and that was mainly for gym. Wow moment for me. =)

Well Im going to go ahead and shoot for -200 pounds. I am at -182 currently so I figure what is another 18 pounds? Now im not trying to lose weight...meaning im not changing my eating habits. Actually Im increasing my carbs to slow down.
I am very happy at my present weight and size. I got into a size 6 jeans! I never thought I would ever be a 6. I was determined to get to an 8 but a 6? WOW.
And here is a size 4 skirt I fit in.

I lost 7 pounds for the month. -181 total loss.
I forsee some plastics (plastic surgery) in my future. I want to get my arms done next summer. I hope to have some money saved by then. I wont bother with my tummy or thighs until after i have children (so that will be many years from now).
My WOW moments for this month would be weighing less than all my imediate family members, buying my size 4 skirt!!! I am not really a size 4, only in skirts. I am going to see if I fit into a size 6 jean though b/c my size 8 is getting loose. I think what ever JEAN size u r is ur true size.
Losing weight is expensive! I wear the smallest clothes in my family and friends and so I literally have to buy a whole new wardrobe. Im planning on getting some skirts alterred...maybe that will be cheaper then buying new ones. But i guess if being thinner means having to buy new clothes ill gladly endure it. lol It is like this old saying I heard, "money is the world's curse" to which the guy always replies saying "May the Lord curse me with it...and may i never recover!" lol

Two rules when taking vitamins:
-You must take your Calcium Citrate (we do NOT want Carbonate or Caltrate b/c they are not as easily absorbed)
Try to find a multivitamin that does NOT have iron it, iron interferes with the absorption of the Calcium. The iron will win. Easy solution is to get a multivitamin w/out iron like Centrum Silver
-You must take your iron (only thing you can take with iron is vitamin C) an hour apart from everything else.
Now that we got those two rules out of the way...let me tell you what i take. First I will list out what i take and then ill talk about them.

1. Calcium Citrate by Equate (Walmart brand) or Citracal
2. Vitamin D
Biotech Dry Vitamin D3-50 (50,000IU) (Cholecalciferol) 100 caps/btl $24.99 at vitalady.com
3. Vitamin A
Bio-Tech Dry Vitamin A (25,000IU) (Palmitate) 100 caps/btl $7.49 at vitalady.com
4. Multi vitamin Equate (Walmart brand for Centrum Silver)
5. Zinc by Spring Valley 50mg (for skin and hair)

I am taking a high dose of A (25,000) because vitamins A, D, and iron are the most common vitamins to become deficent in.

2 calcium, 1 D, 1 multi vitamin, 1 A
lunch time.......
1 iron
bed time.......
2 calcium, 1 multi vitamin, 1 zinc

So you are newly post op, what should you take?
Calcium citrate
D (either 10,000mg or 50,000mg)
A (25,000)
Multivitamin (I like the Equate - Walmart brand for Centrum Silver)
Iron
Zinc (optional)
Taking the D helps absorption of Calcium. Any increase in D will depend on blood work. My dose is 50,000 so i only need to take it once a day. It is very common for a DSer to need high doses of D so I would recommend taking the 50,000 D from the beginning.

The DS is the best investment i ever made. I could not be happier!
I went from a size 26/28 (or 3x) top to Medium and Large
I went from a size 24 pant to a size 10.
I went from a size 12ww shoe to a 9.5w
I went from a size 44DD bra to a 34D
Wows for the month:
-34dd bra (smaller than my mom) (2/19/08)
-I weigh less than both my brothers. My youngest brother has always
been the skinniest.
-I am wearing size 10 Lucky Brand jeans! (3/1/08)
-I fit in a size 10 dress at JCPenny.
-I saw my reflection in a window at school and i looked thin! I felt thin.
My mother and I went to a grocery store but it was raining so she dropped me off by the door. I waited for her inside and she walked past me. Then she jumped and said, "Oh it's you! I didnt recognize you!" My own mother didnt know who i was. lol
-My dad gave me a real compliment. I dont recall him ever
complimenting me on my appearence before.
-Andy and my mom thought my month 11 pictures made me look too
skinny. But then i took some more for Andy and he liked them.
Reassuring.
Made goal - normal BMI which means i lost 100 % excess body weight. I am no longer over weight!! (3/2/08)

Month 11 Update

I am 11 months out and I have lost 9 pounds for the month. That means i have to lose 7 pounds to get to a normal bmi and 24 pounds to get to my personal goal.
I am wearing large shirts, size 10 slacks, size 12 jeans
I am still eating sugar - i will work on that.
I am not obsessed with losing X amount of weight by 1 year. Just as long as im losing, I will be happy. I am very greatful to have the DS. This is the best investment I have ever made!
Vitamins. In the morning i take one multi vitamin. Then i put two multi vitamins and 2 calcium citrates in my pocket and im off to work. Every hour i will take a pill. This is working very well for me.

This month updates:
1. I made it ONEderland (in the 100's and out of the 200's aka TWOterville). I made it to ONEderland 5 DAYS after my nine month surgiversary on 12/10/2007.
> There is a freedom with making it to ONEderland...i feel like reaching goal is no longer something i have to hope for...it is more of a certainty. I KNOW i will get there...the pressure to reach goal is lifting. It is very hard to explain.
2. I made some fab goodies for X-mas. Id love to have my own cooking show.
3. I look so cute in my newsbie hat!! I could never wear hats before the DS...head was too big. But now i can and i love them! I'll get a picture soon.
4. Oh yes..my total loss for this month is 7 pounds (-153 total). Little disappointed that i didnt make it to 10 pounds but what can you do? I ate a lot of sugar and carbs...it was the holidays! And i have a lot of stress right now. I wanted to lose 176 by March 5th. This may not happen now. I like having structure and schedules...but i guess ill just deal with the fact that i may need an extra month. It really shouldnt matter...im just being a punk.
9 month update
-10 for the month and -146 total
Well i am one pound away from ONEderland (in the 100s). Ive had a few wow moments this month...
1. Went from a shoe size 11-12WW to a 9.5w!!!
2. Becoming aware of my body frame...I sit with my legs crossed and read a book and think wow im actually getting thin. I love crossing my legs. I know it sounds silly but i never did that before the DS.
3. Im wearing larges. I had picked out a shirt from jcpenny in a large and had my friend buy it w/ her discount. I figured id be in it by x-mas...i tried it on anyway and it fit!! And so did my skinny levi jeans!
4. My mom bought a ring for "me" years ago but it fit her finger and not mine (hmm...) so anyway she gave it to me since she "technically" bought it for me. It is white gold with tiny little yellow diamonds. Its dainty and i love it.
5. I think being thinner is finally sinking in...men compliment me and I think it's taken my head this long to process everything. I feel good, i feel i look good (most of the time). I am so greatful to have the DS. i feel like no matter what obstacles i may face in the future it wont be that bad..new perspective. I love my DS.
Future goals:
I want to feel comfortable sleeveless (i have a ways to go)
I want to feel comfortable in a swimsuit
I want to be a size 8
I want to no longer need to buy wide width shoes (not sure if this one can really be helped).
