Ok, here it goes. I am 5 weeks post op when I found this wonderful site. I am a military wife with 2 kids.
My starting weight was 247. I am 5ft 6in. I had my surgery in Sedalia Missouri, now I live in Stafford, Virginia.
My husband is deployed and left before I had the surgery. Prior to the surgery I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol,
and was bordering diabetes. I was constantly having chest pains and that was my wake up call. The doctors discovered a 6cm gallstone before my surgery but they opted to take it out at a later time. Which I count my blessings, that it wasn't my heart.
I chose to have this life altering surgery so I could be a more active parent, and I was tired of being exausted and frustrated at
amusement parks and taking some of the fun out of the experience for my kids. Most people thought I wasn't "big" enough for the surgery, the fact is I learned to hide it well. With the health issues and my husband being gone so much. I feel this is the best decision I could have made.
