 - 8 pounds lost.

I did pretty good today...Still Sore..Early morning around 5:00a I got up and got into bed...I was able to handle getting in and out of bed with only minimal discomfort!! Woooo...Was only able to sleep on my back though, but Ill take it...It felt like heaven laying there...The chair was starting to hurt my back.

I had a protein shake for breakfast, for lunch I had some broth and a shake, for supper I just drank a few sips of shake...I have a little restriction, but Im assuming that is from the swelling...I dont expect to have this in another week...buton the off chance that I do..that will be great!!

I also took my chewable calcium and vitamin pills...I consider them my dessert....lol...they taste soo good!!

I tried not to take any pain pills today, but ended up giving in around 3:00p....I wasnt horribly sore, but I was getting very uncomfortable. I took a second one around 8p....

Ive noticed gas pains around my left shoulder...At first I didnt know what it was, but I noticed it shifted a lot during the day and after reading about everyone elses experiences, Ive come to the conclusion that is what it is.....That isnt fun...Ive taken my gas X and would have thought with all the gas that I have been passing that it would have alleviated all of it....not so. It is around midnight right now, and it has almost gone away....for today....Hope it doesnt come back tomorrow.

I had some company today, my cousin and her family came to visit..she got this really cute hair cut...Ive wanted it like this for a Loooong time, but thought my face was too fat...She has it short and spiky in the back and longer and flat on the front and sides....very flattering!!

Well Im going to bed...Its late and I want to be able to get to sleep without another pill..

Sip walk-sip walk...This is the story of my life!!

I have lived in my EZ Chair, still unable to sleep in the bed...Maybe my bed is up too high..not sure..but for now this is ok...My DH has pulled up a less comfortable chair next to mine and has slept/napped with me..Poor Him....I told him to sleep in the bed,but he is says he is ok where he is. (I would be in the bed..lol)

Ive had a lot of gas today, none in my shoulder, as I have heard a lot of people have had...Ive taken my gas X and it has relieved some of it.

The pain meds are helping me get up and out of bed walking..right now, I wouldnt be able to tolerate it, but it has also been making me nauseated. Ive taken the nausea meds most of the day as well...Im getting nauseated right now, so Im going to stop writing..

So, G had to go to work the morning of my surgery and I told him not to come home late and have me rushing to get there...He didnt, but I was still rushing because I forgot to take my before pictures.

He got in and I handed him the camera and had him start t take pics..Then, I took my clothes off and had him take pics with my bra and underware..He said you better not send these to anyone..OMG..yeah right...like I really would want to send someone pics of cellulite...wooo....sexy....

The drive to St Agnes was uneventful. I got there around 11:05a.  There was road work being done at the entrance to the hospital, but other then that no problem. We pulled up to the front, had the valet take our car and then I went in to register.

The admissions person said that Dr. Averbach was running a little behind, but I would be called back to be prepped shortly. One of the pre-op nurses came out about 30 minutes later and asked a few questions..said that his first surgery of the day had put him behind and I should be called shortly...

About an hour and a half later, I was called back. I took off my clothes, got into the hospital gown...The nurse took my vitals, asked me a few more questions, I was given my IV and then a shot of herprin (spelled wrong?). G came back and stayed with me for awhile to keep my company...Here i am in my hospital gown and he is thinking about sex..He said seeing me in my weakened state did it...lmao..puhleeeze...

They took me into surgery around 2:30-2:45...I remember meeting an intern with tight pants, because I turned around to G and mouthed....did you see his butt?...lol...The last thing I remember was the anesthesiologist say, ok Im going to give you something to make u sleep..

I woke up in recovery..The nurses there were ok...I couldnt keep my eyes open, but was listening them talk about how bad it was storming outside...I was then rolled up to my room and G got there about 2 minutes later..

The first thing I saw was the beautiful flowers. Kitty (an OH member) had come up to see me and brought me flowers!!! Awwwww!!! We had never met before, and was hoping to have met her that day, BUT, my surgery was delayed and she had probably got there when I was going back....Thank you though!! They meant a lot...G was curious as to had sent the flowers because he said , Here let me read the card while you get settled...Im glad it wasnt from one of my male entourage...lmao

In the room, I had my pain pump and pumped it every 5 minutes on the dot....I slept on and off for awhile, the nurses came in and gave me a few more shots of heparin..(to prevent blood clots)...I told G to go home because I was tired...I know he was tired too....

So, after sleeping on and off the nurse asked if I was ready to start walking....YES!!! I was surprised how quickly I got out of bed without any help from the nurse and the pace that I was walking...I made it 2 times around the ward, but then I had to sit down, I became nauseated....I got back to my room and went to sleep...this wasnt until after they gave me some meds for nausea and pain.

My nurses, Dolores and Shabazz were wonderful!!! They were soo attentive and genuinely nice...I was able to have a few pieces of ice chips...and Im talking a few...like 3...lol...That helped with my dry mouth...I also bought this lip moisturizer called lipisyl or something..and that helped out a great deal.

The next morning, I got up to go to the bathroom and felt sore...More then the day before...It wasnt a good day. Between, me not being able to walk without bending like a caveman and my nausea, I was questioning why I had gotten this done....I HURT!!! UGH!!!

The doctor came in with all of the residence and said that everything went smooth and I should be going home today...I was put on my liquid diet, and had my first meal-broth, green jello, hot tea and apple juice.wooooo

I was released around 630p the evening preceeding my surgery and got home around 8:00p...The road work outside of the hospital was terrible and it fely like G hit every damn bump imaginable.

The doctor gave me 3 prescriptions..2 for pain (loritab and delaudid) and 1 for nausea...I took 2 pain pills and was able to get up from my chair and cough..That was a major accomplishment for me..I was very sore coming home and again thought what the hell was I thinking having this surgery done!!  I tried to sleep in my bed but had to opt for the easy chair in the living room...I just couldnt lay down..My stomach felt like it was being ripped open..

Sooo that was my experience....Im sipping and will be walking soon..but I wanted to write down my experience before I passed out again!!...

My best friend from Georgia came up to visit with her son, Dusty who lives in Delaware. I havent seen Dusty in about 12 years...I picked her up and all three of us ended up driving back to Baltimore for some fun..Dusty's birthday was today (he turned 29)...so we took him out and had a few couple drinks :) ....On the way back we stopped at a McDonalds so Della could use the bathroom...When Della got out of the car, Dusty started telling me how he has "wanted" me since he was in high school and that we needed to "hook up" in the near future...LMAO...OMG...I was in tears laughing....I told him to sober up and think about what he said tomorrow morning...Made me feel good though..lol...I think....

What am I feeling? Oh SHYT!!...I still wont believe its happening until I wake up morphined up and was told the surgery went fine..I have horror stories of going in and coming out not being able to get the band due to some un-forseen circumstance...

Ive also had feelings of, why am I doing this..which is shocking because I NEVER once doubted for a second that I didnt want to get this done..I never had second thoughts, was never anxious,nervous, scared...etc...now I am all that AND more...

 I still have to go grocery shopping for all of my post op things...I will try to get that done today..Key word is TRY...If not I will have my husband pick up the stuff for me..

Im supposed to pick up a friend of mine today in Delaware. so I may not have time to go shopping. I lived in Georgia for 10 years and her and I got to be very close friends when I lived down there....She is up here visiting and we are going to kick it for a few....so tonight is going to be an early party night....early because I cant eat after 8p....but then again they said NOTHING about not drinking...lmao...KIDDING..I wont go to surgery with a hangover..lol..

ANYWAY..I have a few of your phone numbers in my cell and will call if I feel up to it, TIA-I will have Big Daddy call you after surgery for an update...(BTW-Tia, he thought that was "utterly ridiculous...why does everyone need a live feed from the hospital"...lmao....) He's just jealous... :)

Last night I went to my second sleep study appt. (Sleep Disorder Center in Annapolis)

The first appt, they found I had mild sleep apnea and scheduled a c-pap study. My room was very comfortable and I didnt really have any trouble getting to sleep. I slept in a queen size bed with a pillow top mattress, it had a super soft down comforter and fluffy pillows. I didnt have a tech waking me up not once...thank god...

The C-pap was another story...you guys/girls who sleep with it every night...HOW DO YOU DO IT? How do you have a spontaneous sex life with this thing on?

My husband stayed with me until they finished hooking me up and kissed me while I had the cpap on...He looked at me and said, tonight YOU can be darth vader and Ill be princess lea...(there is something wrong with that man...lmao)..A little inside secret...I bought him a darth vader mask for Halloween one year because he is a star wars/star trek geek...The mask comes with a voice changer...you press this button and you can either play the breathing sound that darth vader makes...or you can talk and your voice kinda sounds like him....well ONE NIGHT...after drinking tequila and margaritas..he comes to bed wearing the mask....needless to say the force was not with him..lol...

I have three children...My oldest is by my high school sweet heart..we were young and let our families break us apart..we never married, but have a pleasant relationship now..my middle and youngest child is from my ex-husband...Satan.

Yesterday I received a call from my oldest daughters father. I answered the phone said hello, he said Have you had the surgery yet...I didnt even know he knew about the surgery...I never had a weight problem when him and I were together...my body was bikini worthy back then and he was 6'4 and skinny...a baseball player...I said who is this...knowing well who it was because of the caller ID..He said Harry...I said no I will be having it next Friday..He said well be careful, I hope this is safe,just be careful ok...I just thought that was the nicest thing....We havent really talked since March.

I received a call from my ex-husband the other day as well...damn their coming out of the woodwork...Despite the fact we have children together, I try not to talk to him...My middle daughter told him that I was having WLS. I could have killed her. When we met I as a size 10, blond hair...I gained weight the 10 years him and I were married and I think when we divorced I was a size 18. (Im a size 24 now.)..He proceeded to tell me every negative thing that popped into his mind..."All you have to do is exercise, all you have to do is eat less, Quit eating McDonalds all the time, get a different job, no wonder you gained weight you sit on your ass all day"...I ended up just being bitchy and giving the phone to my daughter to talk to him...
