Soo I finally got a date of October 3rd....!!! Im terribly excited..but also terribly nerve wrecked..lol I got denied by my insurance already twice!! From my intial submittion then Dr. Singh did a case conference which got denied..and now i am working on my appeals..OOO help me Dear Obesity help!!..lol....Any help?

Hey guys, so I met with Dr.  Santoro at Albany Med yesterday for my new patient evaluation, I got my vitals done upon arrival and got weighed in, Im only down a pound since my last visit nearly a month ago..thats embarassing anyways Dr. Santoro came in we did a general medical history, and she went on to ask about where I was as far eating habits, exercise etc. She asked me what procedure I was interested in and that she would wants to get my scheduled to meet with him. I told her I wanted to VSG and wanted Dr. Singh to complete my surgery; hes the one who has removed a mole from my face and if I can trust him with my face only right I can trust him with my tummy...lol .......Well Im extremely excited to say that I am on my way and:

I meet with Dr. Paul Singh on August 18th!!........:)

 yesterday I had my consult with the pulmonologist at Ellis Hospital. The consult was pretty easy, they took my blood pressure, which was good ..then they took the infamous neck size, ugh 16 and 3/4 yikes thats a pretty big neck from a numbers perspective..or is it? lol anyways after that they sat me back in the waiting room where I was called into a room for a general physical; you know the whole breathe in breathe out thing, listen to heart beat etc. The doctor then instructed me to sit at his desk where he then went over a through history with me, asking questions about how I sleep, family history, drug alcohol use etc and from all that it was determined :  CLEARED FOR SURGERY..NO SLEEP STUDY NEEDED 
                      .God is good.

Lets see where I should start.....lol well I have always had WLS in the back of my mind but never researched until a few months ago, I started watching Youtube for just about everything and came across a video of this women and her brother who had went to Mexico to get sleeved, and I was pretty much sold from there on.

I started my research and from there picked which hospital I wanted to work with, I had what I thought only 2 options, Ellis Hospital in Schenectady and Albany Medical Hospital in Albany, I knew for sure after losing my mother in November that I did not want to have anything to do with Ellis Hospital so I chose Albany Medical Center, contacted my insurance to make sure they do work with this particular hospital before going forth with anything else---Yes they do (I also found out that St. Peters Hospital in Albany has a bariatric program and was the first hospital to offer the VSG)

As required of Albany Med Bariatric Program...

Completed:
I have completed both orientation sessions--> 5/3 and 5/5
Completed my Psychological Eval (2 sessions ...(2)50.00 copays) --> 5/13 and 5/16
Evaluation with Physicians Assistant --> 5/18
Dietician Consulation --> 5/18
Stopped smoking tobbaco products (although I never was a heavy smoker)-->5/18
Fasting Pre-op Bloodwork (results came back all normal with the exception of a Vit D, deficinecy)-->5/19

I have recieved a couple letters from my doctor, poor-thing he just can not seem to get them just right, or too where I am comfortable giving them to my program. So I have a NYS perscription from him requesting a bariatric consult, and I have 2 letters from him 1) just saying hes for it, I have tried many diets etc, and that he recommends it  and the 2) pretty much says the same thing, in a more thorough format but has "recommendation for GASTRIC BYPASS" in huge bold letter in the subject line...utt ohhhhh ...I soo have to get that fixed ASAP! I dont need any reason for good 'ol MVP to deny me.
In the works:
Sleep Apnea Assessment --> scheduled for 6/7
Doctor of Nutritition/Surgeon Referral --> scheduled for 6/10
2 Support Groups -->Thrusdays ?? (not sure when I'll be able to attend)
Surgery Date --> Hopefully sometime in August, or whenever all my medical teams is on one page and everybody including myself feels ready. I want this bad, as good as sooner is better, I want to be 100% cleared for surgery...!!!
