WOW! 7 Months Out

Jul 02, 2007

It's been 7 months today!  I just can't believe it!  I'm down 95 pounds.  I'm at 165 from a high of 260.  I'm tolerating foods very well.  Dr. Chapman and Co. are very pleased with my progress.

I'll try and post some pictures soon.

Update

Jan 09, 2007

Well, it's been an interesting 5 weeks.  I'm adjusting to my new lifestyle.  December 2006 had to be the hardest month of my life.  But as each day passes, it gets easier.  I'm tolerating a variety of foods and learning to know when I'm full.  Lord, it sure does hurt when you eat too much, too fast!

So far, I've lost 40 lbs. and two clothing sizes.  Protein is my friend these days!

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers!  Pictures are coming soon!

Thanks to everyone!

Dec 04, 2006

Hello, all!  I'm home and doing very well.  I got home on Sunday, Dec. 3rd about 1PM.  I had a fabulous stay at the hospital with some really great nurses!

I'm at home on Ensure/Boost 2 ozs/3 times a day, Water and 2 ozs. of Crystal light every hour.  I'm still sore, but recuperating very well.

Thanks to everyone for keeping me in their thoughts and prayers!

love,

Tomorrow's the BIG Day!

Nov 30, 2006

Tomorrow's my big day!  My surgery is scheduled for 10AM and I have to be at the hospital by 7AM.  I'm very thankful for my husband and my mom who'll be there with me.  My daughter is pulling Day 2 duty on Saturday.

I'm very excited, like I'm going on a new journey.  I go into this surgery with a light heart and a conviction to be a healthy and phsyically fit woman.

Thanks to everyone who has posted and offered support.  It means more than you could possibly know!

take care...

Happy Thanksgiving!

Nov 19, 2006

I'm getting ready to head north to NYC for Thanksgiving.  Reality is setting in and I find myself thinking, "Will this be my last real Thanksgiving meal?"  I'm very excited about the trip!  My daughter and I are going to visit family and do the whole tourist thing.  Today is getting ready for the week, basically laundry and such.  It's hard to believe that I'm less than two weeks away from my turn on the loser's bench. Woohoo!!

2 more weeks!

Nov 13, 2006

I can't believe that it's only two more weeks!  It seems like forever since I started.  I just got back from TN where I was working over the weekend.  Ate my last Cinabon!  I'm headed to NYC for Thanksgiving to visit my cousins.  My daughter and I are going up and leaving Da and Cam at home.  I'm looking forward to bonding with her.  We're going to see Hairspray and do the tourist thing.

I hope I'm prepared for the journey to onederland.  The body seems to heal itself well, but it's the spirit that we have to nurture.  I've started telling a few more people, but I'm still in the closet.  I hate being the topic of conversation, especially water cooler conversation.

Sheri A. is now on the loser's bench and she's in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Until next time...  d

Approved!! Date Set!

Oct 29, 2006

Well, it's been a taxing four months for me.  I had my first consult on July 18, 2006.  My testing was complete by the end of August, but insurance wasn't submitted until late October.  I got my approval on October 26.  I was so happy!

My date is set for December 1st and I can't wait!  I hope that I am as ready for this change as I think I am.

I've had great support as well as a wonderful mentor who had RNY in May 2006.  I dreaded telling my mother for fear that she would worry herself sick over the surgery.  Boy, did she surprise me!  She was overjoyed that I chose WLS!  My daddy called and told me how proud he was of me!  I'm overwhelmed.

Now it's just a waiting game...

I can't wait!
