May 15, 2006 was the day that changed my life. I quit smoking on this day, I was admitted to the hospital this day. May 17-06 I had 2 stents put in my LAD. I am 39 years old and I AM TOO YOUNG FOR THESE PROBLEMS! My weight is 235 and no matter what I have tried it always comes back to this. I have tried many things. I feel like I gain daily..I have replaced cigarettes with food. I will be attending a seminar July 27th.
07.17.06: I called today and changed my seminar to a facility closer to my home. I was lucky they had an opening for me THIS THURSDAY! I am so excited!
07.21.06 Hello!!! Last night I attended the seminar for Dr. Colquitt. I enjoyed it. He did however talk about the lapband a lot! I think I will be going with the RNY. I weighed this morning at home and was up to 238. Sometimes I wonder if quitting smoking was worth gaining weight...but I dont think I've gained that much from it. I used to feel like I was getting bigger by the day due to not smoking. I will be going to see my PCP on Monday and hopefully get his blessing to have this surgery. I will update again after going to see him and let yall know what he says!! Have a great weekend!!!
09.08.06 Hello again!!! I have finally gotten my program fee together and was able to schedule a consult with Dr. Colquitt. September 27th is my appointment with him. My appointment with my PCP went GREAT!I gained a couple more pounds. Now up to 240. He has given his blessing and is willing to schedule any pre op testing I need! He has scheduled a gall bladder ultrasound for me which is one of the pre op test and I will have that before I go to my consult. I am getting excited and scared at the same time. My diabetes is getting more out of control. This is my fault I know. Tuesday my doctor had to change my meds to try to get it under control. I long for the day I may never have to take these meds again! I am hoping to have my surgery at the beginning of November or the END of December. My job has what they call "Peak" from the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas and it would be very hard to take time off during that period. I will update more after my Consult!!!
October 14,2006 Well I had my cosult with Dr. Colquitt. I really like him and I do believe I made a good choice with him. His staff was super nice. Jeannie is so pleasant whenever you call there! My paperwork was sumitted on 10-09-06. I am waiting patiently for an answer. I know this surgery will change my life and I need to be healthy. Pray for me and I will get my approval soon.
