well...almost there...we think the goal weight is going to be lowered....maybe around 100#    Went to the cosmetic surgeon, so that I can get stuff going for the spring time when I will again have some vacation time.  Hope that surgeon is as talented as Dr. Chebli

WOW!  What a journey!  I go back and forth between...."Will I stop Losing when I'm at my goal weight?"  to  "God...what happens if I gain it back....OMG....I don't want to have that happen!" I will definately have lost ALL of the weight before my 1st anniversary.  Dr. Chebli says I will be somewhere between 96 and 110 lbs..  Well, I only have 8 to go to be 110!  I was afraid that I would gain weight because 2 weeks ago, I had surgery on BOTH of my feet.  I have sat around or crutched around.  I have lost 5lbs.!  I hope I can keep it up!

Went to the Dr. on Tuesday....he was very pleased....he said that most patients lose 2/3 of their excess weight in the first 12 months.  (So, that would be 66.33%)     In the past 3 months....I have lost 51.6% of my excess weight!!!   I need to lose only 5 more pounds to be at my lowest weight ever!  I think that I will need to change my goal weight, though.....he thinks I will weigh between 96 and 110 lbs. when all is said and done....Unfortunately, there is no chart for those of us under 5 feet tall...oh, well...

So happy...not one single complication so far...I hope it stays that way.  I have not even vomited once.  My biggest challenge?  How to get enough protein....you can only hold so much and protein shakes are filling!

Had surgery on Wednesday.  It went pretty well...there were a couple of times that I was asking myself... I wanted to do this, why?"  My stomach opening was a little swollen, so it was hard to even get down liquids....but feeling much better today.  Haven't taken pain meds since bedtime last night, so I probably won't need them today!!!  Going to walk to the grocery store and pick up a few essentials, because tomorrow I go to the Dr. and he will take out my staples...then I can start the pureed foods!  Haven't really lost any weight...I am still losing the water from having the IV.  I am at 165 this morning.

Just drank bowel prep...now I want to throw up and am hoping that I don't....2 days to go...I'm freaking out a little bit

  Finally!  After almost 3 years of tossing this around....I have a date for my gastric by-pass!  Dec. 30, 2010

For those of you out there who were denied....try obesity advocacy center in Chula Vista, CA.  I hired them and now have an approval for by-pass surgery!  Started the low-carb.  surgery hopefully to be scheduled for end of Dec.

The insurance company says that my sleep apnea isn't bad enough, and that because my high blood pressure is controlled with one medication, it is also not bad enough for them to approve surgery.  What do they want....??? Obviously for me to be on deaths door.  I'm going to appeal.  If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!!!!

OMG!!!  I have prayed for an approval for so long that the shock of this denial is staggering!  Dr. Chebli will be speaking with the insurance company on my behalf on Monday!  I hope to God that he can convince them that it is whats best for me.
