HELP!!!! Sept. 29, 2010

Sep 29, 2010

I'm evidently at a stand still on my weight loss, I haven't lost any lately but I haven't gained any either. I know I need to exercise , I haven't done that in a few weeks. We have been remodeling our dinning room & kitchen so I've been too tired/lazy to exercise. But I guess I better start in order to get this weight to start falling off a little faster I have 49 lbs. to go. My arms are starting to look flabby & that they have dimples on the underside of them (ugly) so I really need to do arms. But I am very happy about the weight I have lost I feel so much better about myself . I know I would feel even better if I get into the exercise part of this. Any exercise suggestions would be very helpful, also suggestions on protein bars would also be appreciated... Thanks

Right side pain Sept. 15, 2010

Sep 15, 2010

Went to my family Dr. today for the pain in my right side, my surgeon said go there 1st & get it X-rayed it showed up okay. Except my muscles have pulled away from my ribs & that it is usually more painful than a broken rib (never had one) it is caused from lifting & lifting heavy stuff we have been cleaning our basement she said I was over doing it, so for the next several days do nothing  . I'm just going to HATE to have to do that...LOL. I can still go walking maybe not as far . Oh, &  the most important thing I was about to forget I weighed in at 195 I was so happy if I could write singing 195 I would,So use your imagination &  " SING I WEIGHED IN AT 195"  .I'm thankful there were know other problems. Have a wonderful night all my OH friends !!!! Sweet Dreams!!!    One last thing my Dr. said I looked wonderful & so pretty. She could tell I felt so much better & that I looked so much happier..... She was so right I'll even give in to the pretty this one time....LOL. Also have a sinus infection & fluid in my right ear... Not feeling great !!!  But still happy!!!

The SCALES MOVED

Aug 28, 2010

I  was so "HAPPY" this morning I decided to weigh even though the scales haven't moved in almost 2 wks. & to my surprise I weighed 205.0. I have 12 basement steps I had to go up & down them about 15 times yesterday (I really did) because we r actually getting rid of stuff after so many years. We moved here 3yrs. ago & moved the junk with us, anyway it helped move those numbers down on the scale. I think I'll run up & down them today. ONLY 6 lbs. away from being under 200....          Aug. 28, 2010

What is going on???

Aug 23, 2010

Well I've been eating right , I do need to drink more  & some times I don't think I'm eating enough. Last week & now I keep going back & forth from 205.5 to 208.5 I don't know what's going on except I do weigh every morning. Maybe I need to start weighing once a week maybe that's the problem. I try to make sure everything I eat is protein or has a lot of protein I can't stand any of the protein drinks, I'm going to try some of the protein bars I hope they are better. I've been walking, I could do better at that & this week I am going t do just that. My hubby is walking with me he is not over weight but he needs the exercise h has high blood pressure & is a diabetic  so it will help him to & I like having someone to walk with. Got to go mow grass now I've been putting it off all day now it has to be done.

1 Month & 3 Days out 8-15-10

Aug 16, 2010

I am 1 month & 3 days out, since surgery I have lost about 30 lbs. & since I started this whole process I have lost 48 lbs. I think that's pretty good, I need to exercise & walk a lot more & I  need to use by weights for my arms. I was wearing a very tight 20W in pants & at least a 3x shirt (sometimes bigger) I can't believe for know more than I've lost I'm in a size 16 pants & 1x some XL shirt. I'm wearing clothes I haven't being able to wear in 4 or 5 years. I have sizes 12 through 20w & a few 22w in my closet, I wouldn't get rid of my smaller clothes, I was praying I would be able to wear them again one day. I feel so much better already, I have more energy (I have even been cleaning house more & have tackled cleaning the basement with help from my hubby & son. Believe me I still get tired but nothing like I did I know it will only get better. I think maybe I do to much some days ( like lifting stuff) because my tummy is still a little tender & when I over do it I hurt in my sides a little. Then I think it's only been about 30 days or so that I had surgery so the next day I let the men of the house do all the hard  stuff. I'm still throwing up some due to not slowing down enough or chewing enough, I also think that when something just doesn't agree with my tummy I get sick. Tonight I didn't think I ate to much but my tummy is cramping & I can't throw up or poop. I ate a tiny bit of boiled cabbage & I kinda think a lot of it is gas. It's starting to feel a little better. I'm also wanting to know what ya'll take for headache or just plain old aches & pain ? My surg. said don't take my mobic or any arthritis med. I'm almost sure he said no Tylenol. My back was hurting so bad Sun. morning because of lifting things in the basement I usually take robaxim (muscle relaxer) but I was afraid to so I didn't I hurt all day. Any suggestions on that?? Thanks for listen I'll post later.

Aug. 1, 2010

Aug 01, 2010

Went to my 2wk. follow up on Thursday July 28, 2010 (actual it was almost 3 wks.), everything was great I hadn't been sick or had any problems my tummy is healing fine. I can start adding things back that I use to do (lifting, using riding mower etc.) & pureed foods. So, I was excited on the different foods to add, I've been sick 3 times because it will feel like something stuck in my chest so I have throw up 4 times (small amount except for once) I always feel better after but before that I just start sweating & start feeling shaking but after I throw up it goes away. I then have a little diarrhea, I think I'm eating to fast so I'm working on slowing down a lot. Other than that I feel good I started out at 258.5 as of this morning I weigh 217.5, (I have never been so open with how much I weighted before to anybody) still have a lot to lose, the Dr. said I should have the rest off within 6-9 mths. I'm working for 6mths., I can start working out next week (lifting weights & going to gym) I'm already walking some it's just so hot here, my hubby got me a treadmill I put it in the basement in front of a TV so I won't get bored. I think that's about it on new news as of now, I did mow the yard yesterday, cleaned carport & house & I even cooked a good dinner for the first time in a while. I now know what so many of ya'll are talking about now when you say how much you start getting energy back . It started hitting me the last couple days but I am so sore today because I have used body parts I haven't used in a while, but it feels good to have started doing things I use to enjoy doing. I'll post later.

July 23,2010

Jul 23, 2010

I am now 12 days post-op, I'm still feeling good (better everyday). The gas is finally leaving my body...LOL, but I feel so much better since it is. My tummy is still a little sore & I get tired a little faster, But I know both will get better with time. I have not been sick so far & I hope it stays that way, haven't had any food problems as of yet (hopefully never) but I'm not getting to eat any real food yet . I can't seem to drink much of the protein shakes haven't found one I really like yet. I try to drink some & get in a little more through out the day by eating something with protein. I have found I can eat a boiled egg if I mash it up really well, add just a tiny bit of mayo for moister & mix it up it's really good something different anyway & protein. I've tried it a couple of times without problems so far . I've started walking a little longer I've over done it a few times but it's good to be walking for exercise again I need to do it more but it's been so hot . I got a treadmill so that's going to help a lot. Talk later when I have something new to post Have a wonderful day!!!!!

I'm Home ! ! !

Jul 13, 2010

I just got home from the hospital, I had RNY done on Monday. Everything went fine I got to have some jello, Popsicle & crystal lite after midnight on Monday. So far everything has gone fine just have a lot of pain. He said he had to cut out a lot of scare tissue. It was a 2hr drive home we had to stop & get a pillow it helps me to hold it against my tummy. I got out & walked around the store a little, because I could feel gas building up in my chest. It helped but I think I walked  a bit to much, I was really tired in such a short time. My tummy feels like it is swollen up & so do my legs (just a little). I'm feeling just a bit hungry for the 1st time   since surgery. I will post later I need to sleep a while.I'm happy with all (right now) hope it continues this way.

One more week ....July 5, 2010

Jul 05, 2010

I am starting my 2nd wk of my pre-op diet, I go for my last Drs. visit before surgery on July 7th then my surgery is next Monday July 12th. I can hardly wait I'm so excited, still nervous but more excited. It is hard to believe it has gone by so fast, I thought it would seem like it would take forever  but to my surprise it has not I guess it's because you have so much to do with test, diet, & for me reading up on things I feel I need to know. I have never "Studied"  anything so much in my life but  I wanted to learn everything I could so I would know what to expect after surgery. I'm know there is a lot more to learn so I'm sure I will be on here a lot in the near future. Also, if anyone wants to teach me anything I might not know (there is a lot I don't know) it will be greatly appreciated. I have learned sooo much just from reading this web site from people who are getting ready or have already had surgery may it be from newbies or people who had it several years ago. Everything on here is very informative know matter how little it may seem from your first poop to your best poop after surgery...LOL.. I enjoy talking to everyone & reading everything so thank you to everyone. I will continue to read for a long time after surgery also. I'll post later & before surgery, I'm also taking my laptop to the hospital with me .
