Well, I'm 36 years old, I have a BMI of 57.2, and I'm in desperate need of revision surgery.
Back in 1986, when I was only 15 years old, I had a "new" procedure, Vertical Banded Gastroplasty. For me, this surgery has been a disaster! I have thrown-up my food for 21 years, and I still have A LOT of weight to lose. Unless my food is mush, I will throw-up very easily and do so quite often. On top of the serious weight gain and the throwing-up, I have recently been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea.
All of my paperwork for revision surgery has been submitted to my surgeon's office, so now it's just a waiting game.
My husband had the DS back in June of 2007, and he's lost 188 lbs. so far! The surgery has literally saved his life. We have a 2 1/2 year old son, and I want to be healthy and happy for both him and my wonderful husband!
Saying lots of prayers and waiting for good news!
